Why did DC vote over 90% to oust Bush?

Let me guess, liberal media conspiracy convinced the political insiders to get rid of Bush? In all honestly, I am very suprised at the amound of people living in DC that wanted Bush out. Does anyone have any insight as to why the town where Bush lives in rabidly wanted to get rid of him? Maybe the people in DC are smarter than we think

Actually, Marion Barry was just elected as Ward 8 councilman this past Tuesday. Ward 8 is the poorest area of DC and is located in the South East portion of the city.

I have a good idea why (seriously!)

Every time Bush visits NYC, it literally becomes a police state. The streets within 1-2 miles of wherever Bush is get blocked off and lined with 3 rows of police officers with assault rifles in formation, shoulder to shoulder, up and down the street, and black helicopters above every major intersection. Subway lines with stops near him get closed. This is because they KNOW Bush would get assassinated otherwise. It basically shuts down the city for those days, and costs thousands per capita in tax dollars.

I can only imagine what kind of Orwellian nightmare DC must be with him in the whitehouse (when he isn't on his ranch).

Yes, but following his federal prison term, he was in fact returned to the position of Mayor by the voters in 1994. Maybe if those stories of Bush being a cokehead were actually true, he might've done better with DC voters?

Actually, some do, but in the nicer, high $$ sections. Gore lived in DC when he was a Senator, as do a lot of other pols of both parties. What they don't do is send their kids to the DC public schools, which are some of the worst in the nation. It's private schools for the rich liberal elites, and abysmal public schools for the great unwashed masses. It's how you make sure the inner cities stay stupid, dependent, and Democratic.
