What was your original account name?

*I* came here for the hot deals - when there were hot deals. There haven't been any hot deals in years; you younguns seem to think a 10% off sale is a hot deal. A hot deal was purchasing $150.01 worth of stuff, using a $30 off $150 coupon, free after rebates, other coupons, and in the end, having $5 extra in your pocket. Or, purchasing a $2500 computer for about $400 after rebates, thanks to an overlap of multiple rebates. I was also here learning how to overclock my Pentium 133. For both, I lurked quite a while; it was a year or two before I made my first post.

I'm with the good Dr. Joined when hot deals were actually hot. My first post was in a Fuji CD-R hot deal topic (Taiyo Yuden!!). I still have some of the discs to this day. LOL.

Olds lured me into his basement with promises of candy and that he would let me see the gimp.

I always enjoyed the content at the site. I had an Abit AX5, which was the article that brought me here. I lurked for a long time and finally signed up.

Damn that sounds like the extreme coupon strategy. I miss the Wild Wild West days of the Internet.

The For Sale/Trade board I guess was the main reason I actually signed up.

To buy a video card and build a PC. Was actually checking on a seller of the X1900XT to see if they were reputable. They were.

I joined because nineteen threads about Trump just wasn't enough for me.

I posted at Sharky Extreme for a while, interested only in CPUs. My posts were mostly related to when the new Xeon processors would be out for university purchases for my research. Sharky started to die off when they closed their Off-Topic forum. I thought they were silly; who would care about Off Topic. When Sharky became more and more dead, I heard that the best posters were coming to Anandtech forums. So, I used both for a while.

It wasn't until I started browsing Anandtech Off Topic that I switched completely. It hooked me for good. I barely go into the General Hardware or CPU forums any more, but then CPUs have been dull for the last 5 years too with no real improvements and no competition to debate about.

I like to show pictures during my safety presentations. Somehow I came across the Hume thread and was hooked. I am too stupid for the technical forums so I mainly stay here at OT.

At one point it was the best for technical discussion.

Most of my posts are from the 2010-2014 timeframe when mobile was hot.

In for the Tech site... stayed to haunt P&N.
Probably best if they put a giant warning label at the top of that one.
