Was this a cut and paste from the proud boys website?

From somewhere undisclosed, obviously. Trump actually introduced the term "Proud Boys" to the debate & now claims not to know who they are.

And he's changing the message to "stand down" which means something quite different than what he said the first time. It's a mob boss mentality, basically threatening bad things if we don't give him what he wants.

I read their wikipedia page...

According to the article, there are 4 levels of initiation, one of which is to “get a tattoo and agree not to masturbate”. That was apparently amended eventually to the slightly more reasonable “no masturbating more than one time in any calendar month”. What’s the deal with that? Is it something about staying frustrated and angry for the cause instead of being happy and relaxed? How the fuck do they enforce this and how do they check? lol ... Are masturbation bans popular among organizations that seek to enhance group loyalty? - i'm assuming they think Masturbation is, on a fundamental level, a radical act of individuality and not good when group-think is being encouraged? ... This sounds like a recipe for a circle-jerk.

Think about your current friends. How many of us have a friend who if you asked them point blank to condemn white supremacy would respond with "I don't know any white supremacy groups and they should stand back and stand by". If that is the response your friends are giving, you need new friends.

Then no, you didn't answer the question. You answered that IF their goal is to harm others or the economy, only then would you not support them. I mean, who qualifies that with "if"? We are talking about white supremacy. Give me an example of how white supremacy could exist without the goal of harming everyone who is not white.

In the case of Proud Boys, its founder (McGinnis) probably thinks that real men get laid. They don't jerk off.

Proud Boys was probably founded more as a misogynist group in line with men's rights activists and incel types, than as a racist group. But whenever you set something up to attract misongynist types, you're going to end up with racists too as the groups overlap.

I cant. But the answer is correct. OBVIOUSLY their agenda seems to support harming others, so no. I dont support that. Are you too stupid to figure that out?

No, I'm just exploring why it was so difficult for you to just say it without qualifiers. The answer to that is also the answer to why you feel the need to defend Trump on the issue, if I had to guess.

The thing is once Trump is gone maybe in 4 years, guess what? Those same people will continue to exist, America will continue to be rotten to its very core, and racist white men will continue to run your country. The corporations have bought your country and politicians a long time ago. The writing is on the wall, all the good Americans should emigrate to greener pastures as the American empire is now on the demise.

Ah ... ok, that link clears up some of the pathology. That's a "handy" piece of information.

Trump didn’t simply fail to denounce them, he failed to denounce them while suggesting that they should stand by and be ready “to do something about Antifa and the left” because “Somebody’s got to”. Who’s the “left” .. anyone who isn't a Trump follower?, a Democrat?. The President of the USA has asked a terrorist organization to stand by and be ready to attack the people who don't agree with him?. He was requesting - pretty explicitly that they not act "yet". The "yet" is implied by the words “stand by” which suggests that a request for the action under discussion could be eventually imminent. This is veiled threat, and the veil is pretty thin.

“Should I shoot that guy?”

“Stand down”

Result: I lower my gun and I don’t shoot the guy.

“Should I shoot that guy?”

“Stand by”

Result: I keep the gun on the guy and wait for orders about whether I should shoot the guy.

It seems impossible to interpret this any other way. When he tells them to stand ready to attack, then he will have called for insurrection and made himself guilty of sedition and treason. Oh. Wait. He already did.

He needs to go on the cliff diving circuit.
I just saw almost a mirror image of this on....wait for it... the five. This time it was Juan Williams saying over and over Trump is supporting white supremacists only the other four are at first flummoxed, then the head ass on the five tries talking over him, and Juan is having none of it. Wow!

Because I wanted to explain I dont support their ACTIONS, but support their legal right to assemble and speak freely. Hate speech is atrocious, but its not against the law.

Im not sure why he was even asked that question since he's publicly denounced them already in March: "“I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and white nationalists because they should be condemned totally.”
Yeah, not like Hillary was asked about emails more than once.

Oh, and since then he's actively praised these people.

Nobody cares if you support their right to speak freely. If they did, they would ask you (or Trump) about that.

Trump does this shit constantly, It may even be a deliberate tactic - Using phrasing designed to give him a fig leaf of deniability when he’s called out on his words.

In a way ... it’s a passive-aggressive move against his supporters, requiring them to accept some implausible explanation for his words…over and over and over again, until it erodes their ability for clear-headed reasoning.

You don’t have to examine everything Trump says and does without reference to his history and record in order to treat him "fairly". If someone has a long history of lying or using coded language, that’s how his words are going to be interpreted and that’s not "unfair".
