Why didn't Trump condemn white supremacists?

Kilmeade went on to criticize Trump. “Donald Trump blew the biggest layup in the history of debates by saying, not condemning white supremacists,” he said. “I don’t know if he didn’t hear it, but he’s got to clarify that right away. That’s like ‘Are you against evil?’ Why the president didn’t knock that out of the park I’m not sure.”

Unfathomable. We have a real mystery here.

I tried to remain neutral and hold the US government to some similar standard that I hold my own government, but that was the biggest mistake I ever made when peering into US Politics. I made the same mistake with the US Police forces.

I genuinely went into the idea of Trump being "racist" along the lines of "Surely, the most powerful man in the most powerful 'civilised' country would not be a racist elitist?" because I genuinely am Naive and thought better of the USA. That was a mistake.

Trump has said things that skirt the boundary of open racism so many times, even crossing that border that I am shocked, and appalled that this man is in such a position of power.

It is another reason on the huge list of reasons that I have to dislike Donald Trump, sitting on the growing pile like his complete and utter disregard for climate change and environmental protection - undoing all of Obama''s Administrations progress towards being more Green.

Trump's government destroyed the environment, it destroys international relations, and it destroys racial equality all in the name of some basic, pure human greed and elitism.

Trump should not even be standing for an election. He should be arrested. America under trump has fallen so far behind the rest of the civilised world in basic things that I am, as a Foreigner to the USA (I'm British) genuinely putting the USA on the list of countries I wouldn't want to visit because I wouldn't feel safe.

Anyone catch F&F excuse making this morning? Can't wait to hear
I tuned into Fox right after, last night. They brought out their big gun Hannity and he says Trump steam rolled Biden. Yea, I bet, like Greenman, he lost his own audience after the first 30 minutes.

Even if Trump would have condemned the white supremacists, the white supremacists would have understood that it was just another lie that Trump needed to say just to get elected. If push came to shove, he will certainly say it, not that it means anything. Sort of like holding down an 8 year old and making him say UNCLE. It doesn't mean anything.

The white supremacists flipped out on him when he was cornered into denouncing them after Charlottesville, prompting him to walk the statement back the next day.

It's possible It's a combination of those three, plus J - that he's every bit as senile and past-it as his fans accuse Biden of being.

Had he been sharper and better at thinking-on-his-feet he could probably have found a response that would satisfy "I", without demonstrating "B" and "E" quite so blatantly.

Biden's certainly far from impressive in the articulacy and sharpness stakes, I don't think he's a lot better than Trump in that regard - but he doesn't suffer from his lack of articulacy so much because he doesn't have as much that he needs to obfuscate and conceal as Trump does.

"Why didn't Trump condemn white supremacists?"
There are very few who remember what war is like. I grew up with death camp eyes around me and stories of Soviet Labor camps as well. It may already be to late to deal with this fire.

Even “stand down” suggests “lie in wait”.

I think this is the line they are taking with the Proud Boys and similar groups in private – because they want their support and think they can ride the tiger

“Oh, yes, the president is with you 100% but the time is not right. Stand down and stand by until the moment is right”.

Now, it’s entirely possible that Team Trump think they are just humoring the violent white supremacists, and hold them in nothing but scorn. But that really doesn’t matter, does it? .

Oh my.
"He's told them to stand back," she said, pointing to the president's efforts to tamp down violence in cities across the country. "He doesn't need any vigilantism. That's never what we've called for."
...
“I think the president has been very clear that he's against anybody committing violence in the streets,” McCarthy (R-Calif.) told reporters Wednesday.

I was simply crushed by his dodging the Nazi go home thingi. Jesus it was like devastating. It was as bad as my usual Friday night at the local 5 star where at my special table I get served a mere 4 star plate. It may take me weeks to recover. Doc says watch the cops off two black guys On YouTube and call me in the morning.

I don't believe I've ever used this term because it is so reviled in the black community. It would take a lot and the right context.

Here I think we have the perfect context. Black Republican, defending a completely purposeful racist comment from the leader of that same party. I give you Sen Tim Scott, the resident Uncle Tom
