Why didn't you tell me about tri-tip steak?

tri-tip is absolutely amazing if you know how to grill it. it can be difficult because it's so thick (that's what she said) and it'll end up being too rare in the middle and too charred on the outside.

Tri-tip was $5.99/lb at Costco earlier today...Top Sirloin was $4.99, Boneless Rib-Eyes were $7.99 for Choice, $12.99/Prime.

Love tri tip... excellent grill food unless you overcook. The best is tri tip at 2am after the bars close...

The local Safeway here has it for $2.99 a lb. here and was just about to buy some until I remember I still have some in the freezer. I like to immerse my tri-tip with garlic, italian dressing and worchestershire sauce overnight and slow cook it in my Weber until medium rare. Very tasty.

I did direct over what I'd consider medium heat until nicely browned/char on outside then moved to indirect for maybe 10-15 minutes. But I also left it out of the fridge for probably 2 hours before cooking.

heres my next day try tip sandwich:
Sourdough roll: diced red onions: honey mustard: Sweet Baby Rays bbq sauce: Jalapeno jack cheese: thinly sliced tri tip: jalapenos: lettuce and diced dill pickles. Maybe some sprouts if you have some around.

hmm you over payed. i suspect you haven't heard of it is because its cheap and a lot of people need to stroke the epeen and talk about the expensive steak.

i love tri-tip BUT DO NOT OVERCOOK IT (err..or any beef).
