It's a legitimate question. If it's too controversial for AnandTech, then they need to loosen up.
What's worse is a musician in a genre like punk or hardcore or metal describing the word that describes their genre, I've never heard a good answer. I always hear something that is embarrassing to even a 3rd graders intellect.

I think it depends on where you live. I take a bus to work into downtown Seattle, and at one of my bus stops, there are always black people calling each other by that word.
I have never heard a satisfactory answer to this.
As an Asian man, I have never once heard a group of Asian people talking to each other and throwing out "beloved patriot" left and right as they are conversing.
it's all about claiming the word for themselves, so they can empower themselves, and keep other people from using it, because it's offensive when other people use it....
