So last week, I caught a flu/cold combination... and it feels like I've been coughing every single minute since last Wednesday. I'm still coughing (it's not as bad as it was earlier this week)..

I've been on Dayquil/Nyquil, dozens of types of cough drops, drank lots of tea, vitamin pills (especially C), etc...

And I'm still coughing.. WTF

If only there were some sort of person who could analyze your symptoms and provide a medicine or procedure to make you well again...man, I bet someone like that would make a lot of money.

"I'm going to break from the parable of the wicked doctor and tell a little story about a patient. Let's call him... Buck, who has low O2 stats and crackling lung sounds. Buck has idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. His lung tissue's turning to rock. There's no known cause, no treatment. He is slowly suffocating. Lung transplant's about a half a million dollars, but this poor sucker's got no insurance. If he tried to sign up now, he'd be excluded, pre-existing condition. But let me confirm with my lawyer. She confirms. If only Buck hadn't been diagnosed with fibrosis before he got insurance. So... back to the exam."

Bird Flu

Nah, I remember I sat on a very cold bench and the day right after I got sick..

It's more likely you have bird flu than your getting sick from a cold bench.

I haven't been in contact with a bird.. I haven't eaten chicken in the past week... I don't think so.

Yeah, and if it's any other color, you have cancer.

Also, cold benches are the number one carrier of bird flu. Do you have any idea how many birds have done their business on that bench?

You probably have some virus. They can last up to 14 days or more sometimes. Unlike bacterial infections, viruses can not be cured, and they have to take their course. The medication you take will help your symptoms, but will not shorten the duration of your illness. Give it a few more days, and you should get better.

Sometimes the coughing is the last symptom to disappear. Try to keep your throat moist with lozenges or candy. Using a humidifier while you sleep may also ease your coughing. I like to use Vick's Vapor Rub on my throat, chest, and on the OUTSIDE of my nose when I have a bad cough.

Hope you feel some relief soon, OP!

Could be alergies. Have you noticed that you go through this little spell every year?
