On another forum that I sometimes frequent (a rabid right-wing place not unlike Freeperville), I saw this reply to a YALHA (Yet Another Liberals Hate America) post and thought that it was a pretty good comeback to the "Liberals hate America" and the just-as-frequently-used "Liberalism is akin to terrorism" mularky:
I'd like to hear from the resident "Liberals are evil" crowd about whether or not they think that these are as accurate of stereotypes of conservatives as the ones that they continue to spew about liberals.
It's still a pretty lame rhetorical device. Comparing "liberals" to "the terrorists" is pretty stoopid. It just another aspect of accusing them of being "anti-American."
Liberals don't believe in using violence to push their agenda, conservatives -- and terrorists -- do.
Liberals don't believe that their religion is more important than other people's. Conservatives -- and Islamic terrorists -- do.
Liberals believe that justice is justice and everyone deserves certain basic human rights. Conservatives -- and terrorists -- think that some people are not human enough to be treated with dignity.
Liberals believe in the rule of law. Neo-conservatives -- and terrorists -- believe that ideology can place you above the law.
I'd like to hear from the resident "Liberals are evil" crowd about whether or not they think that these are as accurate of stereotypes of conservatives as the ones that they continue to spew about liberals.
