Why do other countries think they are culturally superior to the US?

First of all, not all do, but I agree that in my travels I've encountered that attitude. Particularly from certain Europeans.

I feel it has to do with age, something akin to a grouchy old man who thinks a younger generation is ignorant, uncouth, and ideological. In this case though, we're talking about the age of cultures. America's popular culture is a young upstart when compared to places like Italy, France, China or Japan. Curious that we have probably the oldest stable government in the world too though...

How am I wrong? I personally know people from all corners of the globe. My best friend is Korean for example. I can eat any type of food from anywhere in the world within an hour including real Italian pizza and right next door I can get the best American cheese burger. Like I said USA is united nations - anything from anywhere you want you can get it. That's culture.

This depends on what your definition of "cultured" means.

Take this for example, only 4% of Americans have passports. That means only as much as 4% of the population have only ever left the country and experienced other cultures first hand instead of just creating assumptions based on hearsay.

Honestly, it's all only a % of a certain culture actually being dumb enough to believe their's is superior. What's funny is that the OP is saying other culture's are inferior all the while. You will always find advantages/disadvantages when comparing any culture.

Western Europeans are generally very prejudiced against Americans to the point of lunacy, but they are the same way with each other. And TBF, American "culture" is certainly shit in many regards.
