When consoles with specific optimization will beat a PC?

Xbox's processor is only PIII 733MHz, 64MB system RAM and custom video processor. A PC w/ PIII 1GHz and 64MB of system RAM can't run games anything like the Xbox.

Higher resolution on the PC, mouse\keyboard are more accurate for most people, and a lot of people, like me like to tinker with the things and then make them go even faster. Then there's bragging rights and making your e-penis bigger (aka 3DMock scores).

because the internet makes multiplayer much more fun then any console, and pc's(see expensive gaming machines) will kill ANY console, i dont know why you think they wouldnt.

I feel like I've had this conversation about a million times before.

Different people like different things.

Personally I like both console and PC. Consoles are better for racing and sports games almost definitely, while PCs are typically the best for FPSes and strategy games. RPGs are a toss-up to me, as both have their fair share of great ones.

Its all a matter of PREFERENCE, there is no "best" system for gaming (except for individual people, which means, the Xbox might suit one person's tastes the best, while PC another person's, you get the picture).

Sorry to rant, but far too many times this has come up in various places and it always sickens me because people get all defensive over it for some reason. Just be thankful there's so many choices to choose from for your gaming, and live in peace console and PC gamers.

Consoles are great if you have less than 20/50 vision and aren't wearing your glasses/contacts, and if you don't own a computer, which can do everything consoles do 50 times faster, and so much more.

NEWS FLASH... A P3-733 / 64mb PC can't really be considered a "very expensive gaming machine" anymore.

Remember that xbox runs at 640x480. I can play a ton of games at 640x480 on even very old systems. Looks like cr@p on a PC monitor, but the majority output xbox onto .51 dot pitch interlaced tv, so the shocking lack of detail isn't so apparent.

The GeForce3 that is in the XBox is truly a custom graphics card. You can't really buy them from NVidia unless you are Microsoft.

Optimization for specific consoles makes the games run better, or at least look like they do. But a good PC will always beat an XBox or any other console when it comes to raw gaming performance. Not to mention that you can do a lot more with a good PC. A gamer's PC does well for intensive work and graphics editing. Not to mention audio and video geek stuff.

The resolution is better, the multiplayer is better, and while playing I can do 2 instances of F@H, and I can use it for 1000 other purposes, encoding, scanning and last but not least WORK ! (I am a programmer)

put it this way, NFS: Underground looks like shizer on the XBOX compared to the PC Version on my rig (nothing special, AXP 2500+, vanilla 128MB GeForce FX 5700)
