THE MORMON CHURCH TEACHES

11. The black race is a cursed people. "Not only was Cain called upon to suffer, but because of his wickedness, he became the father of an inferior race. A curse was placed upon him and that curse has been continued through his lineage and must do so while time endures. Millions of souls have come into this world cursed with a black skin and have been denied the privilege of Priesthood and the fullness of the blessings of the Gospel" (Joseph Fielding Smith, The Way to Perfection, p. 102). (Although it became expedient for the Mormon church to open the Priesthood to blacks in 1978, the alleged revelation did not change Mormon doctrine regarding the penalty of being black. This revelation also directly contradicted established Mormon doctrine.)

Sounds racist to me

I thought BranzLS made a graet point and didn't see anyone take his lengthy post on.

Personally I just don't like themselves being classified as Christian because they are not but brainwashed to think so. I also don't like the evangelical way on wish they mean to spread their warped sence of religion on everyday people and letting Christains as a whole take a bad wrap for their bumbling ways. Making it harder to spread God's true Word.

I think BranzLS point making only shows he is ignorant of the facts and seeks to discredit a religion that he himself admits he knows nothing about, and then goes on to search for any damning garbage he can find to justify his attack. Example? His link to exmormon.com. If he was sincere and was looking for the truth, "Why Do People Dislike Mormoms?" would not have been the title of a thread to search for that truth. He can't even spell Mormon, let alone understand it or its meaning to the spiritual needs he lacks.

Come to think of it, your spelling ("I thought BranzLS made a graet point and ...") shows me you and he must be the poster boys for why we need to invest more in public education, because you sure can't be a product of voucher ed from this conservative administration.

One of the things needed to understand any doctrine is to be sincere and have a contrite heart, praying for the power of decernment from your Heavenly Father to assist you in understanding the things you will learn of. It is obvious from your post that you have done neither. To me, you are the one WARPED, BUMMBLING, and unable to spread the Word of God, unless you could do it from cut and paste in an internet church.

Tell me your pastor or clergy supports bashing Mormons in the name of Christianity. Go ahead, tell me the name of your Church that has so much truth as to bring you to spew your vile notions as to make others think Mormons have no claim "God's True Words".

Make my day. :disgust:

I thought I might get attacked no matter to me. I was simply stating my opinion and personal experience which gives me the ill feeling toward them. Just cause you don't like my opinion doesn't make it patently wrong.

I was looking for the facts because I wanted to learn. I saw that online, and I thought it might be interesting so I posted it for everyone to see. That does not make me ignorant because I am not trying to preach my thoughts, but rather hear yours. Since when was that a crime? I posed a simple question with a complex answer (if you can even call it that). If you have a thought about it, then please say so and back it up with some facts so the rest of us can learn. If you haver nothing informative to say, then don't say anything at all..

..bottom line, I wanted to know what is "so bad" about their religion to people because a lot of people do put it down.

I gather you identify with some sort of religion; I'm assuming christianity, not that that matters. Yet, you accuse someone of another religion of being brainwashed?

Uh, who is a heathen here? From your drivle, you sound like the one totally lacking any understanding or even a shred of Christianity. Do you think Jesus would start up a topic like this? Do you think he would judge another without having any understanding of the reason one would act as you do?

It was morons that think like you that martyred Joseph Smith. It was fear that what he had to say may be right, and they may be wrong. That change was enough to bring fear and loathing by people who called themselves "Christians". They killed an unarmed man who was incarserated in a jail, totally defenseless. Cowards, everyone of them.

I suppose you line up with that kind of people, because it is obvious from your statements that you do not like "Mormons" , yet you do not know anything about them, and I doubt you ever took the time to learn.
I pity fools like you. You will go through life ignorant, and blame others for your misery. You can change that by being open minded and accepting knowledge based on evidence, instead of hiding behind the shadows of ignorance. I invited you and others to go to the offical LDS website, where your questions could be answered. I will again reference this site so you do not have beyond the left click of your mouse to open your eyes to the Truth, instead of the ignorance you have relied on so far.

I like Mormons. I work daily with several, and a couple of them work for me. Every one of these are first rate people. Do I agree with their religious doctrine? No, not really. But I have not studied it in depth. I am a Southern Baptist and my beliefs are simple. Maybe the Mormons are just more legalistic, maybe not. They profess to be Christian and claim Jesus as Lord and Savior. As to official doctrine, I haven't a clue. But neither I nor my Church bash them.

Their was a cartoon at one time showing a servant running to the king shouting"Sire, sire, the christians are fighting again, and the lions are scared to come out...".

Sometimes we Christians are like that. Satan can get a lot more accomplished in a Church than in a barroom.

How did you come to the conclusion that atheists are the ones that are brainwashed? Do you think that we are genetically predisposed to believe in ancient folklore and magic and must have had it "brainwashed" out of us? I think it is brainwashing that makes people believe the universe is only 6000 years old, that genetic evidence of evolution is a fabrication or at best, misinterpreted, that there are prophets who can foretell the future, and many other mystical manifestations of the unknown.

Bingo. Nice post.
And I have studied the Mormon religion. As a Christian, I find it as plausible as any other, and not at odds. They believe in God, they believe in faith and salvation, they believe that Christ our Savior suffered and died for our sins, and they believe in living righteous lives dedicated to serving God. The rest of their beliefs may be a bit wacky, but it seems to me that they have all the important essentials covered.
Don't most Protestants believe that one can be saved merely by calling on the name of Christ in faith? If that is true, then the Mormons are saved.
