My lifted truck is safer for me. When you crash into me in your fagmobile, you will go under my truck crushing your head,
I will ride it out and probably not even spill my beer.
Darwin wins.

very good. . . the beer was a nice touch

I considered buying one a few years back. Cheap used Ford Ranger for carrying my RC planes around in. Would have been too hard on gas though. Ended up with a Civic.

Thanks for helping to raise everyone's insurance rates.

Jesus and the boys drove a chartreuse micro-bus so I think pickup drivers probably just hate Jesus.

You obviously don't own a home if you even have to ask this question. I would love to watch you tie down sheets of drywall to the hood of your geo metro.

I've owned one as a primary vehicle once many years ago and I'll never own one for that purpose again. Pickup trucks are big lumbering gas guzzling vehicles that I generally have little to no use for.

I'm looking to get a cheap-o used truck (like one of those little Toyota trucks) 'cause I move from apartment to apartment too damn much and I'm planning on getting a motorcycle - better to have a truck and be stranded in the middle of bumblefunk (and then buddy/wife can pick you up - not happily, but gets it done) than not (learned from experience).

OP, you DO realize that SUVs originally were just trucks w/ those "truck caps", don't you?

Enjoy your glorified minivan.

Some need them, others it's just who they are.

Some people like to "do it yourself" with yardwork and such. I would just assume hire people to do it.

I own a home and couldn't possibly care less about carrying sheets of drywall. In fact, I've been a homeowner for more than a decade and I've NEVER had to carry sheets of drywall anywhere. Unless you lay sheet rock for a living I can't imagine a more useless example of why you'd need a pickup.

OK, so which is more evil, an SUV or a pickup truck?

So what you're saying is you can understand wasting money, gas mileage and space on a luxury vehicle which is more useless than a bag of hair, but you judge people who own a truck, which by its very definition is a utility vehicle which allows for the owner to carry needed cargo without damaging the interior of the vehicle? I don't say this often, but you're an imbecile.

OK... I don't understand what this has to do with your argument of why other people own pickup trucks, some people actually do their own home repairs, you don't, so what?

Because a full sized Kenworth is too hard to pick up?

Pfft...if you can park a VW, you can park a KW. (that's Kay-Dubya to youse city folks)

This is the first time in my adult life that I don't own a pick-up...Gawd I miss having one, but manage to make due for MOST things with the Expedition.

Hauled a full-size washer & dryer in it ...at the same time, hauled a load of 12foot 2x12's and 4x4's last fall...BUT, it's not as convenient for hauling as a truck.

Apparently Jules believes everyone should hire Mexicans as cheap labor. I happen to have a wide array of skills and actually enjoy home renovations. I'd LOVE to see you get a shower shroud, vanity, drywall, double-tall glass windows, sliding glass doors, hell ANY door, home without access to a bed.

Your argument is absolutely ridiculous, Jules. Not everyone wants to shell out money (and be inconvenienced by) for delivery. And normal people know how to do at least some type of basic home improvement. You tend to really grasp at straws.. often, but this goes so far as to force me to point it out. You're being downright ridiculous and arguing purely for the sake of argument.
