Seems like a law enforcement problem, not a truck problem. And agreed.

Who are you to access what a person needs? I've never met anyone who after having a truck says, "Well shit, I should have bought a BMW instead." Does that person even need a BMW?

Needs are easy. If you see that person's truck sits at home and his bed is empty all year long, guess what - he doesn't need it.

Wants are easier. If he wants a BMW but got a truck instead, that's stupid. There are people who qualify.

Decided long ago that what I really need is to own a rental facility. Sure for my commute I only need a car, but I want it to be a smooth ride with plenty of toys. Now when I pack up the kids, the wife and the mother-in-law I need a van, nice big conversion would be nice, esp for long trips. Now when it snows and the roads aren't plowed when I have to get to work (ER), an SUV/Truck something heavy like a Humvee or Knight iv. Of course I'm not made of money so I do have to do some yard work, and a load of topsoil or mulch comes in handy, a small dump truck or pickup would be great. Then there is Costco. I bought a swingset, and some furniture, so a box truck would really come in handy.

There is no perfect vehicle so everyone just has to choose between must haves and wants. I'd love to have a pickup as a 3rd vehicle, but where to put it?

Remember most of the cars in urban environments are driven by those who don't live in urban environments, but have driven in from their suburban or rural homes.

But if he wanted a truck but didn't need, that's not stupid.

You know what, you're a total hypocrite. You're the same as anyone who buys a vehicle for vanity without the need for one.

Case in point, check out your rig specs in your signature. You have to post all this info about how you overspent on a machine you don't use to it's full capability. All to sit around and play games and not do anything actually productive with it. Buying a $200 SSD hard drive is a luxury, not a necessity. most of that crap you have in your machine is already outdated and you could have spent half the money for something that would play your World of Warcraft just the same.

Then sitting around talking about having a BMW that does 0-60 in 5.0 seconds. Wow, you're really going to be driving 0-60 at WOT in rush hour traffic to whatever high school you drive to. How often are you going to do 150 MPH? How often you going to do 0-60? Probably about the same as some of these people use the bed of their truck. So what does that make you? A hypocrite. What is good for the goose.... So basically it just boils down to the fact that you don't like it, so automatically these people are idiots because they have something they WANT, but that you don't like. It's childish and pointless.

If I was you, I'd be angry at my parents for making you drive a Camry!

Did you even read my other posts? People are free to buy stuff if they WANT it, but there are stupid people who buy stuff they think they need but don't, yet they don't really want either. That's retarded, and these people exist. It's their money to burn, but it doesn't mean they're smart.

I don't see what the issue is. I have no practical use for a truck. I'm an accountant. but mark my words, my next new vehicle will be a truck. A full size truck. I just like the look and ride of them. And I like the idea of tossing stuff in the bed like camping gear.....yes, each of those 4-5 times a year I go camping.

It's just a personal taste. You don't have to like whats on my plate, you're not eating it.
