yes ive had 3 close to me die, IMO funerals are a boring waste of time, my mother who is both of my parents beleive the the whole ceremony BS that religious people do is pointless, funny seeing as they both grew up religions, hence they are both being cremated

many peopel dont cry and dont morn, i am one of them, and for somereason peopel call me heartless, which ive never understood

Dare I say it, a lot of these people are mourning because they think they should. How many had a close relationship with the pope? Virtually none of those going to visit him ever spoke a word with him. If anything it's elevating him closer to that of a deity than these people's religion would truly encourage. <--I'm sure this applies to some of the people waiting in a lineup. Same people who go to church on Christmas only!

This was not Jesus, and he was not a young guy. He lived a full life. I can understand lamenting him being gone, but put it in perspective. Or maybe I just don't know anything about it, but seriously...24 hours in a line!

I agree. I don't understand why they praise him as thoug he is Christ himself. I'm a believer in God and Jesus but I don't see why they hold this guy so holy. They kiss him and are so happy to be hugged or kissed by this guy. He is human just like you and I. I mean if he was CHRIST, yes, HOLY CRAP I would love to be touched by his holiness but he isn't.

It extends further than the Pope.

The same thing can be said for Reagan. Or even Kennedy. Of the people that mourned either of them, how many actually knew or met them. I'm guessing its pretty low. Those are just two easy examples.

they've been showing it on the EWTN (catholic channel) on dish network most of the morning. Seeing St. Peter's cathedral with the Swiss guards standing vigil over the body is sort of interesting.
