Why do Political Partisans . . .

. . . as Status Quo ?

Don't point the finger and say "every one does it" because that's false - everyone doesn't do it.
Don't try to say it's OK for my guy . . . because either guy did it too, or might do it.

I don't give a damn which 'Party' any official belongs to, Dem, GOP, or Indy . . .

If they are crooked they should get the maximum penalty for their infraction, keep them the hell out of Government - they don't belong there.

If they are responsible people working for the good of their constituents, that's fine, but don't defend the indefensable.
I expect , at a minimum , that a Polititian in any office that may affect every citizen in the country, to be above reproach and not tied to criminal activity.

Partisan Hacks aside, DeLay reaps what he sows, just like Trafficant - you cheat, you loose. Do the Crime - Do the Time.

Maybe it's done for the same reason that some political partisans tend to have a guilty until proven innocent stance?

But your always-innocent-no-matter-what-the-proof shtick works better? Just more intellectual toadyism from the Chicken.

That's kind of the point. People who warship Dubya believe he does no wrong and if a Democrat gets in trouble, welp, guilty until they can find something to charge him with. And the same thing goes the other way around. It's sickening, in my opinion.

In some ways I think this goes to Delay...well if he is guilty then throw him in jail.

Just being indicted brings shame to his position and he should resign.

Well, to go to the heart of the topic let's just call it like it is. DeLay has a lot of political enemies and he is being hung out to dry for his own arrogance. The reality is that alot of these guys pull the stuff he is pulling but because he has crossed the line numerous times (i.e. making sure people who run against him can't even get a job in Washington) he is going down hard. Personally, I say he reaps what he sows. He screwed over alot of people on the way to the top and now he is going to fall a long way.

That said, it would be nice if the OP would not mask what he or she thinks and just try to pass it off as some middle of the road objective observation. Just say this:" Hahah, I hate that neocon DeLay and will enjoy watching him fry." And trust me, he is going to fry and the Republicans are in deep, deep, doggie doo.

As to the OP, even if you had worded it like I did above, frankly, I can't say that I disagree with you given Delay's track record

Now, that aside, I will also look forward to this same "truthfullness" from posters on this board when the day comes that Hilary Clinton, or another high ranking Democrat is brought up on similar charges.

As a lifelong registered Republican, I take an interest in how my Country is run - by both parties & the occasional independant.
Now that I live in Texas, I take particular interest in those polititians that can and do affect my day to day life.
I have never been a straight party ticket voter, I beleive that ONLY the most qualified candidate deserves to be elected, regardless of affiliation.
I have voted for those that I beleive will serve me best and take forward the best interests of the entire country, not for their personal benefit.

Delay has done nothing for the good of the Country, he has only been playing Power Politics with himself being the main benefactor -
at the expense of the Country.
He uses Bribery, Extortion, Treats, and any other means he can to circumvent the rules and maintain his egotistical control.

This man and his game are detrimental to the freedoms of our society, he places himself above the law & claims that HE IS THE LAW - AND THE GOVERNMENT.

Texas and the United States will be much better off without him.

Even if convicted, I'll bet that Bush will give him a pardon as soon as he thinks he can pull it off without excessive repercussions.

We need a massive housecleaning of polititians throughout the country - of all partys.

Uhmm... I hate to break it to ya, but I kind of posted this already above. I lived in Texas most of my life. Never liked Delay, and I never will. I thought my post was pretty concise that this guy made his bed and now must lay in it. So with me saying that, what was the point of your post towards me again???

I also, stand by what I said about Dems being willing to put their own through the same meat grinder when they are found to be corrupt as well...

Sheesh, Not trying to argue with ya. Just wondered why you rehash exactly what I said except of course adding in the typical liberal rhetoric of it is Bush's fault (before the actual event no less). I am all for real discussion, but it isn't all the president's fault all the time, and until we get past that we will continue to have these impasses which end up amounting to a flame war...

If you want to call it dishonest fine, but to mask a political opinion as middle of the road politics is silly. All you have to do is look up other posts to know where a view is coming from.

Point of fact, if something is posted by someone remotely to the right people on this board have NO issue coming right out with the Bush apologist remarks, etc. If you are looking for a flamewar go elsewhere. I got two weeks vacation once for being baited by you guys. Won't happen again. I value my membership too much. You want to discuss facts let's do it.

It is a fact that the original poster tends to fall on the democratic party view of arguments on this forum, and it is bordering on ludicrous to mask your opinion in while trying to appear middle of the road. The context and manner of the OP topic was definitely slanted as I posted. Whether you agree with his opinion or not is a point of contention, but I am going to call it like it is...

When do you suggest we declare people guilty? When the media writes a halfass story about them?

When you've been appointed judge, jury, and executioner officially, do let us all know. THX.
