Why do so many people have boys/girls and kids in general?

I'm a person who often likes to ponder the psychological basis for people's behavior. It seems these days more and more people have kids especially brats, much more so than you would have seen 20 years ago. I've seen it gets even to the point where people who live in inconvenient living situations such as apartment buildings or with roommates still insist on having a kid.

Why do people want a kid? Is it a psychological urge of wanting to feel like you have domain or control over another living being? Is it a sense of loneliness?

I think kids are fun, but there is a line that is crossed when this object of entertainment or psychological comfort becomes not worth having. You have to feed it, walk it, supply it with certain necessities, withstand having your home relatively uncleanly (compared to most without kids), allow it to relieve itself, and generally create a home that is safe for the kid or safe for your possessions (out of the kid's ability to ruin). I think having a full time pool filled with jello and whipped cream would be fun, but it certainly is not worth the upkeep. Is it really worth it for an kid, or has society just become so in love with the notion of having complete domain over another living creature that we have collectively blinded ourselves from the inconvenience of having an "child."

"you're my, now I can control you."

Thoughts on this, or am I just weird?

Why do so many people think their parodies are funny in general? Trying to understand the psychology of it. -DrPizza

You are how old? The old biological reproduction function is a powerful mix of carbon based proteins

They have empty lives and want to live vicariously through their children. They sucked at catching mice when they were younger, so they will be the parent out there every day while their kid practices, yelling, "Come on Junior, you have him by the neck, now bite down and break it! That's my boy! Now go leave it on the back step where mom can find it!"

Same deal with fetching, sniffing butts, humping legs, et cetera.

The scary thing is that could apply to my siblings as readily as my cat

my mom is more worried about my biological clock than i am. I haven't provided her with a grandkid due to lack of vessel.

as far as overpopulation, i couldn't agree more.

Why do so many people make parodies/lame threads, and frequent forums in general?

I'm a person who often likes to ponder the psychological basis for people's behavior. It seems these days more and more people are making threads, especially lame ones, much more so than you would have seen 20 years ago. I've seen it gets even to the point where people live with inconvenient situations such as dialup, and still insist on posting these lame threads.

Why do people want to do this? Is it a psychological urge of wanting to feel like you have domain or control over other living beings? Is it a sense of loneliness?

I think forums are fun, but there is a line that is crossed when this object of entertainment or psychological comfort becomes not worth having. You have to come up with ideas for threads, try to be consistently witty, nef beyond all necessity, withstand having your computer relatively unclean (mainly due to NSFW's posts), allow members to metaphorically relieve themselves on your desktop, and generally create a browser environment that is safe for the workplaces of other members or safe for yours (out of the membership's ability to ruin). I think having a full time pool filled with jello and whipped cream would be fun, but it certainly is not worth the upkeep, unless Mosh and Olds agree to strip and wrestle in it. Is it really worth it, or has society just become so in love with the notion of completely annoying other people that we have collectively blinded ourselves from the inconvenience of making lame parody threads?

Thoughts on this, or am I just weird?

Why do so many people have no sense of humor and are just bitter fucks in general?

I'm a person who often likes to ponder the psychological basis for people's behavior. It seems these days more and more people are crapping on other people's good times, much more so than you would have seen 20 years ago. I've seen it gets even to the point where people who have relatively easy lives with little to no worries still insist on being bitter little bitches

Why do people want to be so bitter and critical? Is it a psychological urge of wanting to feel like you have domain or control over another living being by pissing all over their Cheerios?? Is it a sense of loneliness?

I think rants are fun, but there is a line that is crossed when this object of entertainment or psychological comfort becomes not worth having. You have to constantly bitch and whine and desperately try to belittle people, withstand having your emotions relatively uncleanly (compared to most without such bitter, bitchy attitudes), allow your bitter mind to relieve itself, and generally create a feeling that is safe for your own shortcomings (out of the normal person's ability to have a good time). I think having a full time pool filled with jello and whipped cream would be fun, but it certainly is not worth the upkeep. Is it really worth it for such a bitter attitude, or has society just become so in love with the notion of having complete and pointless bitch fests over another living creature's fun and happiness that we have collectively blinded ourselves from the inconvenience of having a "good time."

The medical/biological/psychological explanation is actually pretty simple. Its all related to the survivial instinct. Humans have very strong survivial instincts, one of which tells us to reproduce. Thats why sex is so important to us, consciously and subconsciously. Even people who dont wanna have kids still wanna have sex, because they cant control their survivial instinct.

As far as companionship or carrying on the family line or control: Those are all the conscious rationalizations of a subconscious desire. Most human behavior can be explained as an action or reaction to our survivial instincts, especially sex.

Now WHY is our survivial instinct so strong?
I couldn't even begin to explain. You'd have to analyze the evolution of all life on earth since the beginning of time to understand it fully.
All I know is all the species who dont have it are no longer around to answer that question.
