Why do u prefer Nvidia or AMD?

Phys X? Not relevant. Or needed.

Nvidia run cooler? One model does, the 680. Although it can't oc much at all. A few 7970 models run about as cool as the 680 though.....Sapphire + msi.

All the other nvidia video cards run hot......

Last Nvidia card I bought was the 9800 GTX about 6 yrs ago.

This is a thread asking people about their preferences. You cannot ask people what they like and then attack them for it.

2.The Asus dc ii model should be ur key.680 doesn't need to oc to beat 7970.U r comparing stock models with non reference models.

My asus dc ii gtx 580 says otherwise()

I change between which one has the better value or card depending on what I'm looking for. I had a 4850, then a 5870 and now I picked up a 680. I haven't had too many driver issues with either manufacturer though I had tons of issues with Skyrim and my 5870 that have all cleared up after switching to my 680. I got my 680 on day 1 so I never had to experience the shortages others are.

I've been going AMD lately simply because when I'm ready to buy they have had the 'next gen' out first (5870, 7970). I also am a bit leary about Nvidia cards as of late... (GTX590's failing when overvolted, how many threads have we seen regarding people 'baking' their 8800/9800 cards to get them to work again, drivers that have caused fan failures, etc.)

I see this 7970 lasting me a few years, who knows what I'll buy at that time, who knows if I'll even really be gaming enough to justify spending any money. Lately there hasn't been too much gaming for me, lots of other things going on in life these days.

I prefer whichever gives the best bang for buck, including power use since I pay nearly $0.3USD per kwh.

The gtx680 is a great card, if it were cheaper i would definitely buy one. I also think the 79xx cards are great too, but they use too much power comparatively. Both are overpriced. My last NV card was the 8800gt, I had 4 of them.

Honestly, most of my cards have been AMD and I have been thrilled with them. However, the 680 GTX in rig 2 is outstanding running 3 monitors. The new Nvidia drivers were smooth, setup for 3 monitors was easy (was familiar with Eyefinity but Surround was new to me).

Nvidia. They have a few things I actually have used recently:

PhysX (I do have three or four games the past few years with it)
Ambient Occlusion
Digital Vibrance

Nothing I couldn't live without of course, but if I can get them for nothing why wouldn't I?

I use Nvidia only because their cuda cores help with rendering in after effects cs6.

For gaming, I prefer NV. SLI/Cuda/physx (however useless they may be, it's better than nothing while we wait for openCL), adaptive Vsync, GPUBoost, and a higher level of effort at trying to break new ground. I only use AMD cards because of non-gaming reasons.
