Okay, pumpkin spice lattes aren't bad, overrated but not bad. And I live McDonald's pumpkin pies but this it taking it way too far. Do we really have to take everything to such ridiculous extremes? I saw this on Facebook and at first I thought it was an onion article. Not it's actually a local store chain promoting a recipe for pumpkin chili. WTF? I'm pretty open minded, but I really don't that working out. Chili if it's anywhere even close to tasting how it should would drown out any trace of pumpkin flavor so it would have to be pretty bland in order to taste pumpkin anyway. And besides who the fuck was eating chili and thought to themselves 'you know this would taste so trendy if I put pumpkin in it. It's like we live in an age when all you need to do is add some trendy ingredient to an otherwise common and ordinary recipe and suddenly you've become a culinary genius. Hey I know how I can one up them. I'll add sriracha sauce, acai berries, avocado, quinoa, to peanut butter and jelly, but instead of calling it peanut butter and jelly, I'll call it 'beurre de cacahuète et gelée' and serve it on artisan bread so people will think it's fancy and pay $20 for it. It'll even come with an edible rfid chip that automatically posts to Facebook upon consumption.
