Sure, say whatever you want to rationalize your side of the argument. When it comes down to it, dude, it's a fvcking comic. If people buy it - more power too them.

I thought a lot of these action heroes were already closet homosexuals. They seem to have a liking for tights.

This is moronic. Everyone wants to fit in, and everyone wants things that just highlight, with big neon signs, their differences. There is a difference between accepting differences and pointing them out to such a degree that it bothers everyone. Why can't gay people look up to straight comic book heroes? Oh, that's right, they aren't like us, they can't have the same heroes we do, because they AREN'T LIKE US. When all this crap settles down and we realize that we aren't all that different is when we will have real acceptance.

I think it's gonna be a huge flop. I collected comics and the problem is that I don't remember a lot of gays being into comics.

You're just jealous that the Rawhide Kid is getting some and you're not.

Wait - do I know you? Are you my psycho neighbor?

Anyhow, I never really thought about comic book characters being anything but asexual. I guess comic books have really changed since I read 'em as a kid...

Not really. Most comic book characters have a love life -- or the main character suffers from unrequited love for a girl. Clark Kent/Lois Lane. Peter Parker/Gwen Stacy/Mary Jane.

No Sh!T! ...and there's even a big market for XXX comics and has been for awhile.

Besides Catwoman is bisexual.

It's tremendously important to have gay heros everywhere. Don't forget that the Republican party is filled with backward retards that hate blacks women and homosexuals with such passion that they vote. With negative advertizing driving off the 60 % of the population that is too normal to put up with garbage cndidates, the edge acquired by attrqacting these retrograde haters into the party provides the margin of votes ned=cessary for victory. The result is that a few retards hold the nation in bondage and we get rules and regs aqnd an atmosphere from the republicans that pander to these extreem twits. Thus our nation's growth is maintained hundreds of years behind where it should be. When homosexuality is on the television and in our homes 24 7 in all it's visual splender and the thrill of anal retention has gone from the masses, the Republicans will cease to pander to it's most moronic element and join the rest of humanity in a march to the future. All this depends, of course, on the homosexual hero. We're tired of heros that kick ass. It's time for heros that prick ass.

I'm not personally sure if it will be a flop or not, but I'd buy the first issue if only for the possible future resale value

You know...that's probably a pretty solid investment.

Why Do We Need An Explicitly Gay Comic Hero?
Cuz the left thinks its immoral for gun manufacturers to show kids hunting with their dads in their marketing, you know, under the logic that it promotes the "gun culture" and makes children grow up to be murderers, but its A-OK to promote butt-pirating homosexuality to kids. Figure that one out...

Or a popular brand of condoms? I think that is the name of the condoms that I always see for sale at those gas stations and convenience stores, anyway.

I thought aquaman was an amphibian?

BTW, if you don't want to read about gay comic book hero's don't buy / read the comics. That's about all there is to it. As mentioned above, just because they aren't shown having sexual relations, most comic books display love interests. Batman & Robin for example (J/K!).

There was another thread about this. I still think it's an idiotic idea and I'm surprised Marvel went for it. Nothing against the concept at all, I just don't think it will sell to a market that I thought was primarily for kids. I could be wrong but I think the comic will fall flat; it'll be great for collectors though.

So you're saying that the only stories written about heterosexual characters are ones that involve them having sex?
