Hitler was an egomaniac. He was in it for the power just like most of our current governments around the world. The problem was that he was a psychopath and a sociopath. He would get people to do anything if they would let him.

Hitler's reaction was obviously to "fire all missiles", and he either killed himself when he realized it was too late, or was killed by the Russians. His family all wound up either dead or incarcerated as well.

Fair enough.

IMO we need to "scour the earth" in Asia. It's a legitimate police search. The same privilege should be granted to any nation which is searched. If they deny the search, then we have some thinking to do.

You do realize that in our timeline that Hitler was already defeated when we dropped the Abombs on Japan?

Not only defeated but committed suicide back in April 1945. We dropped the bomb in August 1945. I doubt Hitler could've communicated from beyond the grave so we don't know Hitler's reaction

Well you have a point but that is not completely true. We do not need a military nearly as big as what we now field nor do we need to spend $700 billion on the military every year. That is ridiculous. If it was me the military budget would be cut by about 80%. The bottom line is, we need enough conventional troops to defend our country but we do not need anywhere near what we have now. Any war large enough to threaten our country's survival is going to end up in nuclear war and the world will be destroyed. There's no point in developing a conventional military strong enough to defeat Russia or China. The only thing worth spending money on is a small conventional force and anti-missile technology.

I might not be a military strategist but I have common sense, something that people who make the decisions to spend all this money on the military clearly do not.

Germany surrendered in May, 1945. The bombs were dropped on Japan in August, 1945.

Hmm. SickBeast's comment about knowing our nation's history is kind of ironic.
