Why do you get itchy when you go into hot water?

i take the occasional bath (for the [very] hot soak, def not for cleanliness) and have never experienced this.

Seriously, though; no one else has this? My legs/thighs/etc. itch as I just dip into the hot water and goes away after 5 seconds.

i honestly and seriously have not experienced this. this is like, a bath or hottub? but not ball-burning hot?

I've had that sensation on a few occasions, be it in the rare hot bath or being drenched by a super-hot and pressurized faucet.

Most often I feel that sensation when I'm going from a really cold area into a hot body of water, and that is if I'm going to have it at all.

Noticed no real trend to it other than the occasional cold --> hot transition.

That makes sense, because it's exactly the same feeling. I've experienced that quite often, especially weird when it's all over your body and you're exhausted. Tingly and weird.

okay, i can see 'tingly' when associated with running, that's kind how my skin feels when covered with hot sweat, and you know, that whole shock of being running, and then letting up.

but slipping into the tub does not trigger any similar sensation. i still say leprosy.

I noticed I get incredibly itchy and uncomfortable in a hot tub. It's the pressurization and the temperature that just rapes my body. I can't stand it one bit.
