Because i can have a face online persona. here i tell everyone i a short and ugly. I also pretend to have health issues. Add in the bad grammar and spelling and it completes it.


In real life I am tall, good looking and a movie star. Having this persona lets me interact with the little people and keep myself grounded.

But then there's the LAN parties at Club 33, Anandtech-branded Centurion cards, remote desktop sessions with Kevin Mitnick & Edward Snowden for helping you get your computer's security software setup right, not to mention all of the cool Hollywood memorabilia you get from the annual Lifer's Secret Santa gift exchange, like the original Darth Vader helmet or the Flux Capacitor used on set. Our last ATOT Lifer's get-together on the Venus yacht was awesome, although I'm not a huge fan of kobe chili inside red bird's nest soup, but the fugu sushi was pretty good! :wub:

This. Sometimes I get bored, or just feel like procrastinating. It's a way to pass the time that's better than stating vacantly into my screen for 8 hours. Plus the constant typing makes it sound like I'm actually doing work.

It's like having friends 100% on my terms. I talk when I want to talk, and kick you all out when I'm not in the mood. It also helps me keep up with pop culture. I find out when there's something worth paying attention to. It's like a room full of editors without an agenda.

You know, I had never really thought about it, but that's a good point. And not only having friends on your terms, but also the type of discussions that you want to have, whether it's about random stuff in OT, H&F, cars, Macs, Androids, whatever. Hmm, good point.
