WTF is an iiyama?
It's a Japanese company that makes CRT computer monitors. Once again, someone doesn't realize we are talking about CRT TELEVISIONS, not PC monitors.
My two-cents. I've never owned an "expensive" CRT television made by anyone but Sony. I currently have a five year old 32" Sony Trinitron. Flat top to bottom, but not left right. It calibrates almost perfectly; I've no complaints. I have more than gotten my money out of it and it's still running strong. I've also owned countless Sony Walkmans over the years. I still have my 2.1mp Sony Cybershot digicam...it's perfect!
The ONLY reason why I'm probably going to upgrade the TV is that the TV doesn't have component inputs...only S Video. That, and I want a bigger picture.
I haven't made up my mind yet if I'm going to go w/a 36" CRT or a RPTV. I have read that Hitachi and Mitsubishi make the best RPTVs. But if I go the CRT route, I'll be looking at Sony, Toshiba and maybe Proscan.
I don't know how so many people have gotten bum Sony products....to much B Stock purchases maybe? Refurbs? I dunno. *shrug* I bought mine new, from an authorized dealer and after calibration, it's been perfect.
I would buy another Sony in a heartbeat.
