Why does Just Cause 3 cost $85.00?

I think the issue you guys have with me is that I speak the simple truth. Its so simple and so correct that it blows your mind. You can't imagine the truth being so simple, so you assume I must be somehow very wrong. But I am very right in both my judgement of the situation relating to the game publisher's reasoning behind the high price as well as the poor value of the game when compared to that price. I am right to judge the DLC offers as a dishonest trickery.
The only way to communicate the truth is to speak it like a child. If something is unfair, say its unfair and tell people what you want instead. Fair and just, that's how I am in this situation. People are afraid to say what they want these days. I want JC3 for $45, the entire game and I want that to be the price right now.

It's illegal, but not immoral. Given the injustice inherent in wealth distribution and the fact that nobody is getting hurt by making a copy of a copy, I'd say an excuse isn't really needed.

What if instead of a pc game it was food. Should the person starve or steal food? Would it be wrong to steal food in that case? If yes, would it still be wrong if they stole food that had absolutely zero impact on food for anyone else, i.e., stealing it out of a dumpster in a place where it is illegal to do so.

Witcher 3? Really? It has more game play than 99% of the releases of the past decade. It is as far from a cgi movie as possible. I don't think there is even any cgi in the entire game.

I find it sad how most Americans view capitalism like a religion and have faith that it is always right, and are completely unwilling to see fault in it. I think in the next 10 years more people will start to see it for what it is... but for now, America will continue to be the most capitalistic cutthroat country imaginable, where the safety net is made of piano wire.

As for Moonbogs point, I get it, but he's about 2 years too late. We complained about this years ago. Now we just don't buy the games until the all inclusive half the price version comes out. Most of us have such backlogs it is not important to buy a game day one. It is that hoarding mentality of 'only limited supply' that makes you think you need to buy it day one. Get past that and you only have to struggle to not buy them all when they are on sale for $1.

The only games I've bought day one in the last year have been Fallout 4 and X-Com 2, both using gift cards I got from my employer for xmas. And I got 20% off X-Com thanks to Prime.

Everything else was Steam sales at 75% off original price or more and a Humble Bundle or two.

With a little patience there's never a need or excuse to be a sleazy yarr matey. If you want to play a game badly enough to warez it then you owe the developers some cash monies.

The leet gamers buy them on day 1. This is imperative. This way you can come on the forums and brag about how well your rig runs the shiny new game and you can complain with everyone about the crappy drivers and SLI support. Its a group activity more than it is a game. Everyone knows and understands this, yet some pretend not to.
If you wait until the game is cheaper, complete and actually works, then you are all by yourself enjoying the game the way its meant to be played. That's not fun.
PC tech foruming and enthusiasm is like surfing. Its exactly like surfing actually. The games are the waves and the GPU's are the surfboards. You must be on the edge of both at the same time to enjoy the activity. Waiting for a game to get polished is like standing on a surfboard on the damn beach as you watch everyone else ride the waves. AAA game piracy is dead until Denuvo is cracked if someone cracks it at all. Just Cause III, new Tomb Raider, Far Cry Primal no - all run Denuvo and all are uncracked Day 1. Phantom Pain or Mad Max have not been properly cracked. Phantom Pain/Mad Max is some shonky patchwork of emulation that barely works and doesn't count. Looks like the much vaunted Scene have given up and there are isn't any one left who understands VMProtect. There is a link on Reddit that goes into detail if you google it.

Also season passes are dumb but everybody buys them because they promise crap they youll never be able to get unless you get the season pass. and also you are spending money on junk that you don't even know if it's going to be any good. what if you buy the season pass and the dlc ends up being a bunch of garbage? publisher already got your money cuz you bought the season pass when the game launched cuz it promised you 3 extra pieces of whatever to make your character more badass.

Buying the whole damn game tonight for $21 on steam sale, including expansion. $85 one day, $21 a few months later. Much more appropriate for a game that doesn't support multi GPU and is nothing more than a superficial sandbox that you go around breaking stuff in. Yay for tonight. $21 bucks baby and you are mine.
