like all be typing a sentence, and all the sudden the cursor will randomly move to another line, or it will randomly stop typing, and i mean this happens alot, when im typing, not just once in a while, i can always tell when i posted a reply on my desktop or my laptop since my damn laptop has so many typos (like now!)

its soo damn frustrating/annoying!"

i have a sony vaio vgn-sz120p" notebook

(for instance this post took me 10 mins just to create, not b/c of my typing skills but of the damn cursor randomly moving, and since i look at the k/b when im typing, i never notice it until i'm almost done with the reply/post

If you rest your palms on a touchpad, your palms will move the arrow, and if you apply extra pressure at all, it'll register it as a tap sometimes and click, therefore moving your cursor to wherever your mouse is.

i dare you to try and type without resting your palms on the touchpad. I'm 95% sure this'll solve your problem. (yes it's good to rest your palms, but touchpad + touching when you don't want it to move = bad).

I accidentally rest my hands on the touchpad all the time on my dad's laptop. It was really annoying until I figured out what was happening.

The correct way to rest your palms on a laptop is with your hands spaced apart so that the touchpad is between them. If you need them closer together in order to get your fingers set right on the keys, you'll have to learn to rest only the outsides of your palms and keep the inside edges lifted a bit. I have the same problem since I don't use my laptop often, but I mostly avoid it now. It really is annoying when the focus changes to some other window while typing.

You may also be able to adjust the sensitivity of the touchpad so that lightly touching it with your palm doesn't cause this.

It's also possible it's a bad connector, or the keyboard being installed improperly. If the palm rest plastic is pressing against the touchpad, it could cause intermittent issues. Or the weight of your palms might cause it to touch once in a while.

Laptop keyboards are such a pain in the ass. Wish they could find some way to make them better and more comfortable.
