Why does one of my folders always open every time I boot, and how can I stop it?

I don't understand this one. Every time I boot my computer it keeps opening one of my folders. There isn't anything in the Startup folder that's making it happen. I know it can happen when you restart your computer when you leave the folder open, but the folder is closed when I shut down or re-boot. Yet every time it boots, up pops the folder (it's actually my C:\Program Files\ICQ folder that always opens).
I reckon it's something to do with the lock up I had the other day. After hitting reset, and the computer booting, the folder opened up. It was a folder I had open when the lockup happened. I think that something somewhere is telling the computer to open it up every time the computer boots (in the registry, or one of the Windoze configuration files).
I'm running Windoze '98.
Does anybody know where I should look for a way to stop it, or does anybody know how to stop it.

See if it has been referenced in the Registry Startup by using MSCONFIG.EXE

My daughter PC started doing the same thing, plus her would pop up the launch internet explorer and connect. The only thing I could figure out was she had downloaded so much beta :| stuff off the net she goofed up something. So I just formated her drive and reinstalled. That was with win98se. Now she has win2k much better.

Start|Programs|Start Up Delete the folder from that folder. That should be your problem.

I wish it were that simple. I've been "plagued" by the explorer@startup bug for about a year now. Not on all my boxes, however. Very weird.
