it only seems fair if you think about it. take the entire budget, divide it by the number of people, and have everyone pay the same percentage. that way the game is even.

likewise for corporations, they could each pay the same percent.

The same percentage of wages or the same percentage of the budget?

The simple fact is a "fair" tax system in which we all paid the same would particularly suck for people of less means. It's also extremely hard to identify how much we all benefit from taxes. You use a road, but if I own a trucking company I use it a lot more than you do.

Awww... did someone just get out of a third grade math class and is now trying out his new abilities on his worldview?

How cute.

Would 'everybody' include illegal aliens or would they get special treatment? How about those incapable of work? Permanent disabilities are skyrocketing these days. Children?

There hasn't been a budget passed since 2009. Does this mean we owe nothing?

Screw any kind of income tax. Go to a flat sales tax. Illegals can't escape that.

Would that tax cover real estate, stocks & bonds, businesses, currency trading, paid up life insurance & so forth?

Or are taxes really just for the little people?

Here's what a tax on all transactions would look like-

Because some idiots want the government to redistribute the wealth and steal from the evil rich to give to the poor.

There should be a flat tax which would be much better.

Fair or not, this country couldn't afford a flat tax.

Theft is unjust.

The power elite and Wall Street benefits the most from taxation.

If there was no way to enforce IP, then Microsoft would've been a small business vulnerable to failure.

That said, the Declaration of Market should be something like: businesses are instituted among men and when they have benefited from govt, it is the natural right of the market to let those business fold and to institute new businesses.

Um, your "equation" doesn't produce a percentage. It produces a per-capita number of dollars. And with this "proof" of your mathematical prowess you're giving us tax recommendations?

So, an unemployed person receives a tax bill of $3300? And if he's the sole breadwinner of a family of four, his tax bill is $13,200?

Sounds totally fair to me.

300M americans, budget is 3.5 trillion. That's $10k/person. If a family currently makes $40k and has 4 kids how exactly are they going to find $60k/year for taxes?
