Why eat spicy food?

I had 15 or so of the hottest wings at a restaurant for dinner and boy have i been paying for it.....

The chemicals released to deal with the pain of a good burn are similar to the chemicals released after running a marathon.

So basically you get a free "high" without too much pain. Tastes good too.

When I was young and didn't really have a taste for spicy foods and my parents would always eat their food really really spicy. I always though to myself what's the point of eating it spicy? Isn't tasting the the food is part of eating because you're actually tasting the ingredients instead of everything taste the same with spice? Boy was I wrong.

Mmmm, buffalo wings. Actually, it's not so much the hot sauce (which is good in itself), but the ranch dressing you dip the wings in.

yeah i had plenty of ranch....every once in a while i'll order the spiciest stuff...but everyday i'll have spicy food to keep up the tolerance....put hot sauce and pepper into ketchup!

yeah they just taste good. Not too much so that i'd get a hernia but enough to make me drink some water.

Hmmm, I drive a Honda car and Motorcycle, watch FOX, and LOVE spicy hot wings.

Some spicy foods have been known to raise your metabolism. If your body has to go through extra steps to digest the stuff, it can be a good thing.

I like wings quite a bit, but I haven't had too many buffalo wings that totally burned me up. I put out the fire pretty frequently with beer and celery. Cajun food can be pretty spicy too... I had some fried alligator a few weeks back....it was interesting.

No, it's true. A lot of those so-called "hot sauces" (Pure Cap, Dave's Insanity, X AM Reserve, etc) add no flavor, just heat. So much heat that you can't even taste what flavor there is. I'm all about "The hotter the better" until it's so hot that all something tastes like is hot.
That's why I stick to hot sauces that may not be super hot, but they taste awesome - Tapatia, Cholula, Pico Picante, Tamazula, Valentina, Frank's, Tabasco, Kalahari, El Yucateco....
