Why Egay stinks
UPDATE: Paid in full via MO. Postmarked 3 days after CFH claimed to have sent it, but glad to have cash money. Guess Egay doesnt stink that bad after all....but it still does reek to some extent.
Results of my Egay auction, the worst buyer in the free world. Read on. Customer From Hell won for $75, plus $15 shipping. Me: Hi, noticed you won the auction. What will be your method of payment? CFH: either credit card or COD. Me: Ok, if you decide to use paypal with a credit card, please add the 2.2% + .30, in your case $2.28, for a total of $92.28. If you send payment today or tomorrow, we can ship on Monday, when the ship center opens. CFH: COD is better. Please send to: CENSORED Me: For COD, i'm gonna have to charge you 100 dollars even, because of our in house handling fees and UPS fees. All i need is your OK and I can send on Monday. CFH: How the heck does $75 turn into $100? I thought shipping was like, $10. COD is $6. That's $91 Me: My shipping is 15 bucks, because it is a heavy item. Regarding the COD, the extra 4 dollar charge was placed because we have to go out of our way to a different ship center for COD, which is 10 miles farther. Also, we won't see our money for 2-3 weeks... CFH: Let me talk to mom tonight and i will get back to you. *DAY PASSES* Me: We have yet to recieve your payment info. We will be shipping a rather large quantity of units on Monday, so we would like to include your router with it, in all interests of speed. CFH: How about if she sends you a check? Me: Thats fine, as our auction states "I will accept cash, money orders, cashiers checks, and for speed, Paypal" Please send a CASHIERS check to CENSORED. We will ship the same day as we recieve it. Me: Did you send the payment yet? CFH: she sent it yesterday. did you send the equipment? Me: We will send upon arrival of payment. CFH: ok, first you said you would send it today (monday). what is going on? Me: Original message: We have yet to recieve your payment info. At that point, we thought you might be using paypal, in other words, instantaneous payment, as out other customers do. Our policy is to not let anything out the door unpaid. Thats our policy. Try to find someone else on egay that would ship anything that wasn't paid for. CFH: I sent my shipping info to you twice. Please scroll down this email. Me: We have your name, we have your shipping info, we have your router, and we have it labeled and ready to ship. We received your address last week. Again, in reiteration: WE WILL NOT SHIP YOUR ROUTER UNTIL WE GET PAID. We inquired about your payment method several times. We deliberately did not ship your router due to the fact we did not know how or when you would be paying us. Now that you have settled on a method of payment, we are waiting upon its arrival, and/or clearance from the bank until we ship your router. WE DO NOT SHIP ITEMS THAT WE HAVE NOT GOTTEN PAID FOR. Nobody in business ships unpaid items. Restaurants only cook takeout orders that they have been paid for first. We work on the same principle. We have not gotten paid for your router yet, so we didnt ship it. Now that you have informed us that you have mailed us your payment, standard US mail from area code 10002 is 3 days. Giving the USPS the benefit of the doubt, it should be in my mailbox tomorrow. If your certified check is in my box, I'll drop your router off at the ship center. If it isn't, I wont. Some people just cant understand business 101. The saga continues...More details as they develop.
