man you're full of shit.
Meanwhile tons are wondering why remain lard asses but are on the stair-masters or treadmills. They work out but fail.

It's because if you're thermalnuetral like sitting in 73-78F your body does not have to work like crazy to maintain 96 via sweating if it's too hot or burning fat if it's too cold.

Wrestling coaches known this years WTF you think they turn up heat to 105F in practice a week or two before meets? Just to torture? For fun? Or was it guys shed fat like crazy when heat is on?

Research is out there. Google - AC obesity.

Don't mind him, he has some sort of vendetta against ACs and think we should all sweat our asses off 24/7.

Do whatever it is you do for exercise , outside, hottest point of the day and you'll be like damn Z was a genius after a month. Guaranteed.

I love Penn and Teller. This clip was highly amusing. It's essentially the placebo effect. People do the same stuff with wine tasting too. Tell them it's a $3 bottle, and they'll tell you it's cheap garbage. Tell them it's a $30 bottle, and they'll say it's pretty good. Tell them it's a $300 bottle, and they'll consult a thesaurus or just make up new words.

Diet has changed substantially. People eat a hell of a lot more than they did 100 years ago.

The difference in the amount of calories that you burn in the heat vs in cooler temperatures is minimal. I have read though, that constant exposure to extreme heat will increase your base metabolic rate by around 5-20%. Of course, if you go running in 100 degrees, you'll likely get heat stroke unless you're conditioned for it. With heat stroke, may come nausea and vomiting. You'll likely have less appetite as well. Ohh, and you could also go into a coma and even die too.

Now, even at rest, if you go into the extreme cold, your body will burn more calories since it has to work to generate heat. Thus, I propose, buy yourself a walk in freezer, set it to 0f, and live in it.

Yes we need to acclimate our AC made inefficient bodies but once it's done you can stay out in 120 all day no problem like our troops do wearing 40lbs of body armor (speaking of which - I don't see any lard asses over there from private to general ...wonder why?). And yes you'll vomit if you eat trash or drink alcohol. Excellent point on vomiting, your body won't let you ingest garbage under strenuous circumstance - all the more reason to run in heat and be out in it. Gotta run - literally.

The wrestlers turn up the heat and run in garbage bags to lose water weight, not fat weight.

Look at old Indigenous American pics, old Chiefs even all thin, now they are all corpulent and people blame "genetics" even though it's impossible to change genetics much over 100 years. "diet" even though their diet has no changed much.
American Indian genetics haven't changed. That is precisely why obesity is a problem. As a genetic group, they are unable to efficiently process complex carbs and so since modern diets are high in those, fat is the result. Exercise does play a part however, endless studies have shown diet not, exercise, is the primary reason for obesity.
What changed drastically was AC units being put on top of their houses and being inside not exercising.. Same thing that changes in all HS/college athletes one they get a desk job and before they used to have contests who could eat the most pizzas and were thin. Heat and outdoor exercise.
You can blame AC if you want (notice I said that with a straight face) but, the drastic changes in diet and way of life of the American Indian have played a more significant role in my opinion,

It's nothing to be embarrassed about it's science.
http://abcnews.go.com/Health/Diet/story?id=2120381&page=1

PS cancel your ACed gym memberships you have to work 3x as hard in there for same results. (which no one has time for so no one does)
I think your reading comprehension is lacking a tad. The article you linked never implied that exercising in temp controlled environments somehow burned less calories than the same exercise in hot or cold environments. Actually, the article never talked about exercise at all.

This is the fucking internet. Sentence structure and grammar are far more lax on here. And I don't fucking care. See? I did it again. But I don't make up words or use vernacular that makes me sound like a fucking moron.

love me some fast food.

Some people love tuna shakes: http://www.deepsquatter.com/shake.htm
(ex recipe)
the official d/fw assault crew tuna shake - by chef jeff amason

2 6oz cans tuna in water(or oil if on bodyopus diet)
2 cups water or skim milk
4 large ice cubes blend until smooth & creamy. This is a must for any hardcore lifter.

Different strokes for different folks.

Ugh. D: D: D:

Watched that clip, and I have to say Bullshit seems kinda' bullshit. They take the clips of the 6-8 people whose reactions support their thesis, and intersperse it with carefully selected snippets from "experts."

No mention of how many people they actually did these taste tests with, it could have been hundreds, with just those few giving the reactions they wanted.

I call Bullshit on Bullshit. :awe:

Not only that but in the beginning they were eating a bowl of soup, I've never seen soup at a fast food place. My problem is when I crave a burger 1/2 the time it's prepared so poorly it's not worth the hassle. Last week I stopped for a couple of Big Mac's on the way home and discovered both were missing the top beef patty. Brought it back and the manager tells me "I've got a new employee over there", While waiting for new burgers I saw an employee with plastic gloves on scratch his nose and neck then continued making food, I also brought this to the manager's attention..

I've probably eaten 100 big macs and not one was ever missing a single ingredient. In fact, I can't recall a fast food item ever being made wrong, while I definitely can recall restaurant food being prepared incorrectly.

That being said, I try to keep fast food meals to once or twice a month. My digestive system says no.

We grab FF occasionally when neither feels like cooking and I've always liked me a Big Mac, just seems most of the employees around here are dumb, lazy or just don't give a crap about the product. Here's another story, I had a Carrabba's $50 gift card laying around since X-mas so week of the 4th we decide to get curbside take-out. Go to place my order and get told "sorry, we're out of lasagna"...I'm like WTF how in the hell does an Italian restaurant run out of lasagna at 6:30??. "our prep crew only makes a certain amount and then goes home, if that runs out there is no more sir.." Wow, I didn't know that lasagna was so difficult to make that not one person working in the PM could get some made up, just more idioitic bullshit I come across nowadays..

It's pretty damned good too, at least the broccoli cheese soup is. It's always too hot though, and it takes forever to cool down.

Exactly. Either they cook the noodles separately or put special partially cooked noodles in the lasagna to cook while baking, either way it would probably take at least an hour to make. Pre-made lasagna could be kept frozen, but again it would take awhile to cook. I'm sure microwaving frozen lasagna is below the quality standards of the restaurant.

True, which is why you keep a prep person around, if you see the lasagna selling briskly you get another pan in the oven well before you run out. To me it's like going to Outback and being told "sorry, we're out of prime rib, we didn't cook enough" F-ing lame IMO..

they def serve it in the north east, you can find the nutrition info on the website if you search for soup

Actually this winter we had a record 14 days below freezing so they would have done well this year with it, even here in FL.
