Tell the employees of Enron about how their 401Ks saved the nation.

There are theories relating to the break up of the USSR and end of the Cold War that don't give Reagan all the credit he and his propagandists stole.

And please, the reductions in defense spending that Reagan/Bush/Cheney instituted are now being blamed on the Democrats by the same people who claimed erroneously to have "won" the Cold War and "defeated" Communism.

I find their claims laughable since they seem to have forgot to mention The People's Republic of China.

PS Clinton "inherited" one of the worst recessions of my lifetime. And that goes back a ways.

I find it amazing that our own US citizens can't appreciate Reagan's role in the break-up of the FSU but a huge portion of the Russian, Ukrainians, Fmr. East Germans and Belarussians I know think he had a huge role in the fall of the Soviet Empire. Since I often travel and work in Russia and I speak Russian quite well I think I can talk quite informedly on this topic. Go see the exhibit in Berlin and see how much emphasis they put on the effect of the US. Don't forget the effect of defense spending of the US as a percentage of GDP far outstripped what the FSU could muster. Internally Russia would have been bankrupt if they continued to try and match the US in spending. Hell the economy of California is bigger than that of Russia as a whole!

With respect to communism, there are many flavors of communism. The only reason China has remained communist is they try to stay so isolated. Russia oversaw an empire of states no just one country. Currently Russia has a big illegal immigration problem with China and they aren't overly happy with China's form of communism. Siberia is seeing a huge inflow of illegal Chinese into the area since the border is so big and Russia can't control it. China could easily take over Siberia and there isn't much Russia could do about it! China wasn't that much a part of the Cold War as it was more between NATO and the FSU (and their puppet countries).

Personally I don't think defense spending should have been decreased in any way. I just think the funds should have been shifted to more relevant programs. I served in the military shortly after the end of Carter's term (and his effect on defense spending) and it was like living in a slum project for our barracks; that is how bad our living conditions were. If I lived in NYC with conditions like they were on our base we could have sued the landlord's @ss off for being a slum lord!

Unless it's gay prostitutes in the White House Press Corps who get invited to the White House when there aren't any press briefings.

...And they don't bother to sign out. For all we know Gannon is still in the White House. And for all we know bush's face is still in the pillow.

Or maybe not.

White House staff: "Mr. President, you have a phone call."

Jeff Gannon: "Georgie can't talk right now. His mouth is full."

How typical and funny  The only thing democrats can do is to resort to personal insults when all else fails.

Our media won't touch the issue.

Check this out:

Iraq Tony And The Truth:

This is the story of what Mr. Blair did not tell us before sending British troops into battle.

On the second anniversary of the Iraq war, Panorama reveals how several of the claims he made in public during the build up to the war - and afterwards - conflict with what we now know was going on behind the scenes, as evidenced for instance by government officials and documents.

Broadcast 03/20/05 - Panorama - BBC
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article8579.htm

It's an hour long but VERY WELL worth it!

Look at the definition of what is required and come up with the evidence from a non-political bias.

If an impeachment is being percieved as pure political, then it will probably not happen.

Nothing that can be proven, luckily for the GOP.

He should be impeached, but the military is too active right now. If Clinton had gotten us in a war like this, no one would want to have the job to sort out the crap to get us out of it. Bush started a sh!tstorm and everyone wants him to work through as much of it as he can to sort it back out. Of course, all he did was stir up more anti-american sentiment across the globe...

Had he not done so, there would have been no grounds for an impeachment charge.

Political mudslinging and embaressing stories would have been all that happened.
Clinton lied under oath after getting fingered for having hanky-panky in the Oval Office. For all the apologists trying to claim it was consensual and nobody's business, congrats on completely missing the point.

I don't care if Clinton was getting a knob-job either, nor do I care who he was getting it from (because it was unlikely to be coming from Hillary as her mouth was always too busy with other things). However, I do care that he was getting on the taxpayer's dime and on the job in our place of government business.

If you were getting some @ss in the bathroom at work from a coworker or an underling, I'm sure your boss has every right to know about that too. The same goes for Clinton. He screwed up and was at fault, then he lied about it straight to our faces (a real bald-faced lie when he knew better, which is something the whiners can't prove about Bush's supposed "LIES.") and it's time all the Billy apologists finally admit that fact and move on.

So, GWB and Laura have not had sex since he got into politics? After all, as a governor and as president, you are on the job 24/7 and if you are having ANY relations with your wife or anyone else, you are doing so on the taxpayer's dime and also in a place of government business since you are either living predominately in a governor's mansion or the White House.

The question should never have been asked. It was asked because of a political vendetta. You are the one missing the point.

We could prove the lies if we could investigate Dub like they did Clinton. That is another point you Bush apologists avoid.

I doubt much would have been said if Clinton was doing Hillary in the Oval Office either, or anywhere else in the WH (besides a collective shudder from those reviewing the mental image). Clinton was doing a coworker though, an underling, in the Oval Office and on company time. As I said previously, I really don't personally care who he was doing, but if you can't see the difference between doing your wife or doing someone who works for you (which is considered an abuse of power) then I'll have to assume you're purposefully being ignorant and apologetic to even attempt to draw up such a parallel between the two.

Maybe GWB was doing Gannon? Maybe that is why he got all of those day passes? Maybe you should write you congressmen and demand that the US govt spend $40Million to investigate EVERYTHING that they possibly can about GWB and then put him under oath to refute it all and see if he comes out without even the slightest hint of a lie that can be then used to impeach him?

Maybe Hillary is just Gannon in drag too? Maybe a cow DID jump over the moon and should have been awarded the X-Prize? Maybe all the Democrats are actually little green aliens (c'mon, take a close look at Kerry) who are attempting to take over US government so they can kill all the humans on earth and have it for themselves.

I suggest we spend 120 million to find out the answers to all those questions. Enquiring minds want to know.

Clinton's approval rating was at 73% before the impeachment procedings.

You are diverting again. Whitewater did not start out as an investigation into Clinton and Monica. If Clinton deserved an investigation then so does Dub. There are many credible complaints against this administration. They include the lies that led to 1650 dead American soldiers. That is a little more important than a land deal or a BJ.

I'd like to read that, myself. But, I'm just not a big fan of people that praise the likes of Wolfowitz.
