It is largely the GOP's responsibility but it is different than Obamacare. The GOP will have to throw in some goodies in order to get those 8 Dem votes they'll need. That will give them cover that Obama didn't have. Like with most legislation, there will be winners and losers. If people like me see their bills go down, we'll vote Republican. The folks who want freebies from the gov't, be it birth control or Medicaid, probably won't vote Republican anyway. Just ask Mitt Romney...

A lot of Republicans got Medicaid expansion or subsidies. GOP will have to answer to them too. Also, if local hospitals close because they don't get paid for care for uninsured, then even if people's insurance bills go down, they will punish Republicans for it. Anyways, GOP now owns health care, they will have to live up to post Obamacare expectations or get punished. And they will need Democrats' help to pass anything meaningful.

LOL, sure it is. I could just as easily say and with just as much legal authority that it's my human right to be able to enjoy watching poor progressives die in agony while I look up the best flights to Hawaii.

LOL. Yeah, it's the progressives who are going to die, not the penniless redneck Trump voters in flyover country. You know, the ones who are older, fatter and unhealthier, and without decent jobs. It's definitely those evil young liberals in cities making a ton of money with good insurance already who are going to "die in the streets."

You simple idiots astound me sometimes with both your inability to critically think and your lack of care for your countrymen. Worst of both worlds -- malicious retards.

They'll just take the govt hostage, again. Well, once they figure out who gets screwed & how hard. It'll all trickle down, right?

It's not about intelligence but rather about character. You don't have to be stupid to be a dick. The rewards of dickishness are often quite large in our society & we seem to have a perverse fascination with it.

Witness Trump as President. The fact that he's a flaming asshole is a big part of his appeal.

they are too dumb to understand the net gains of the things they fight against. That is stupidity.

They don't care about society. It's just all about them & what they can get out of it. We're all like that to some extent but we temper it with other considerations, deliberately think of ourselves being in the other guy's shoes. Some people never take it past "Sucks to be them" & act accordingly.

but they too would gain. They are incapable of seeing anything beyond the narrow view.

Empathy is a higher intelligence trait. But you don't even need empathy to understand how universal health care would benefit yourself personally.

and since Trump said it can be done quickly it should have been ready to go.

In reality Republicans were never interested in healthcare reform. Repeal and replace was just a sound bite and the repeal votes were easy since they weren't going to have to own replace.

They got it now.

He has been in office what 33 days.... Your reasoning is flawed.

And he said it would be one of the first things he'd do. He later moved it to his first 100 days, which I'll agree is still one of the first things. I'll apologize in this thread if with in 67 days we get a repeal and replace with a plan that covers more people for less monthly cost and lower cost deductibles plus keep the preexisting condition coverage and popular preventative, extended coverage for kids.
If he doesn't you need to come here and post you/Trump was wrong.
Deal?

*I'll accept something passes but takes time to rollout but it needs to be a concrete rollout plan with defined dates. You can't say people in Congress prevented it because getting quorum is required.*

IQ tests don't measure empathy. History is filed with highly competitive, intelligent & successful people who never gave a rat's ass about anybody but themselves. It's a terrible mistake to think that they're stupid.

I'd like to ask them on a philosophical level, absent of any economic thought influence these 2 questions:

- Would you like every single citizen of the US to have affordable and effective healthcare?

- Would you like every single citizen of the US to have the chance to an education up through college at little cost?

If the answer is no to either one of those, that is a fundamental difference in thought that I'm not sure can be bridged. Both of those require an understanding of broader scale societal workings, not to mention empathy. Both are investments into the future of a country which translate into physical, mental, and emotional health. If the willpower was there, both could be achieved in the US, just like the rest of the developed world.

And I don't consider an iq test to be the be all end all intelligence test. At any rate glenn is a horrible human being.

My reasoning is based in Republicans having been promoting repeal and replace since 2010. They had up to 60 repeal votes but never worked on replace. It shows they were never serious about reform. Now the unforeseeable to them has happened. They own all of it.

I really don't care if it 36 days, 67 days or 300 days. They do need to just fix it.

Where did you pull the 67 days from? Your buttocks?

So if they do have a plan that doesn't meet your exacting requirements that disqualifies the whole thing?

No I'm not going to deal. That is stupid. I have no control over what Trump does or doesn't do. IMO someone bitching about it not being done after only 33 days in office is just retarded.

And I can say whatever I want. And we all know that the Democrats are not going along with anything at the moment.

No they do not own all of it.

And 33 days is totally unrealistic and retarded.

Yes I know about that. But now that they have no one but themselves to blame, they are being more cautious. Not exactly a bad thing.

Being more cautious, that is fscking ridiculous.

The Secret Trump Daesh Extermination plan has not show up anywhere in sight either has it ?

It is hard to be polite in P&N these days, considering the amount of flaming a few trolls do.

No they do not own all of it.

To be honest, I would think you would know better by now than think along those lines from over the decades.

Unless your past is a fabrication on the forums, but I doubt it.

I agree it is all on the republicans to come up with what they promised.

But to bitch they haven't completed it in just 33 days is just stupid.

It is just another secret plan they you never saw the details of, it will miraculously appear in the future.

They are busy ripping things to shreds at the moment for profits, I guess you do not pay attention to be honest.

33 days is not stupid. Trump said he would have executive actions to start repealing the ACA on "day one." That didn't happen. Congressional Republicans said they hoped to have a bill by February 20. That didn't happen.

They used that and similar rhetoric on many occasions. Many, many of their followers based their votes on that rhetoric. Now they need to deliver but are backpedaling at a furious pace. No, 33 is not stupid, it's just holding them to their campaign promises.
