Why aren't Republicans voting again on all the crap they passed under Obama? Or did they irresponsibly pass things they didn't mean to become law, knowing that Obama would veto the mess they voted to create?

You want a 61st vote to repeal Obamacare?

Why dont you just get a better job so you dont have to pay for healthcare out of pocket?

I'm self employed...but I like your lack of empathy. That's the way to talk! Let's give your line to everyone on Medicaid and subsidies...

This is just political ranting and is irrelevant.

Nope, it doesn't solve the problem, it just creates a new pool of screwed people in short order.

This really isn't complicated at all at the heart of things: you either keep all three legs of the stool or you keep none of them. Republicans right now are like the dog that caught the car: they aren't stupid, they know that the ACA is made the way it is because that's the only way that works. Now they have to figure out how to 'repeal' and 'replace' it when all they can replace it with is something that looks very much like the law they claimed was the Worst Thing Ever. They've become a victim of their own efforts to whip their base up into a froth.

Someone's going to get screwed no matter what. Can we agree on that?

You could structure a s-corp and write off 100% of your medical. Why arent you doing this?

Just saw on MSNBC's crawler that Trump is claiming a replacement plan to be proposed early next month, this ought to be good...

Why would anyone believe anything that man has to say? Nearly everything out of his mouth is a lie.

All of you just missed the point entirely. The point is EVERY Politician makes claims and promises that they do not keep.

Trump has only been in office for 30+ days.

And all of you are in an uproar because the Obamacare has not been replaced yet.

That is stupid.

I'm curious, do you know why you are so easily able to find a list of Obama's promises? Were you alive during the last eight years? Do you know what trump and the GOP campaigned on during everyone of their elections?

All politicians lie, as does pretty much every human. The difference, of course, is that we elect politicians to do what they say they will do and we evaluate them based on their accomplishments. So just like you think Obama is a failure for not accomplishing his many promises/goals, we are holding trump to his promises and goals and so far he's failed.

But keep tickling those trump balls, it's what motivates him.

So other Politicians making claims they can't keep makes it right for Trump to do so too?

Quite frankly Trump has been pretty amazing in how he's kept his promises so far. I sure didn't think he'd start moving so quickly on shipping out illegal immigrants and banning travel from Muslim countries

While I don't agree with his policies he is doing what he said. However he's just done the easy stuff. The challenge is to do the hard stuff like:
Build a wall that Mexico will pay for and it will be a beautiful nearly impenetrable wall
Renegotiate NAFTA that brings back good jobs
A tax cut for everyone
Previously mentioned healthcare
Infrastructure bill that's massive and makes our roads, bridges, air ports and I think rail service new and beautiful
These are the things I'm going to hold him to.

Well, you must be doing decently well to not qualify for subsidy under an exchange plan. The current cutoff is $94,500 for a family of 4 iirc.

Plus he gets to write it off to the tune of 30% and he owns his own business. He should be pushing for single payer. Keep the costs down.

He's pandering to fear & well cultivated hatred rather nicely, 'tis true. His EO about Muslims failed miserably & I doubt that the revised version will fare any better. Recent ICE action was planned before he took office but I'm sure you're happy to give him credit for it, too.

Don't let what you want to believe cause you to buy into the post-truth bullshit.

I think people are just responding and relaying what everyone who has been woke (so to speak) for the last 7 years already knew; Repubs don't have shit ready on healthcare. They fundamentally cannot govern on healthcare because their ideas for covering people are at their core untethered from federal gov't and even state gov'ts sharing in the burden of private insurance costs. Instead, their entire premise is centered on shifting healthcare costs from the gov't (subsidies, etc.) to consumers i.e. citizens. It's centered on shit like HSA's, which isn't a bad idea per se but is literally only applicable to if you have money to contribute, so it's absolutely worthless if you don't i.e. tens of millions of poorer folk. Or this nonsense about high-risk pools, which ironically is just another way of saying "Subsidy!", which is only useful if Congress actually appropriates the funds to cover it!

Overall, the likelihood of them coalescing around a plan to replace ACA is essentially nil unless it's a replica, and they'll get killed for it at the ballot box combined with a recession, especially if they repeal without coming up with the replacement. Barking repeal is easy. Actually pulling it off with a replacement is, as we're seeing plain as day, far more difficult especially for these bunch of Repubs.

I'm open to single payer. I just don't want the burden of healthcare on the employer. Figure out how much single payer will cost and deduct it from everyone's paycheck as an add-on to Medicare and I think you're onto something.

Fair enough. In the end he will be judged on those things.

I believe the House voted to repeal Obamacare more than a couple of times during the Obama years. How come they haven't repealed it already since they control the Legislative and Executive branch and why isn't there an alternative plan yet?
That is truly the question. If nothing happens, I will definitely not be supporting my reps/senators in 2018.

30 some odd days. I never stated that Obama was a failure.
