How foolish can you get?! What are you going to do then when the government sends armed men to take your home and property for whatever reason they choose? You would do nothing is what you would do.

He's saying he doesn't support gun control. I don't know about the OP but if the government came to take away my property without compensating me, they would be considered criminals. And that's why we should be able to have guns.
Me? Are you kidding? I don't support any gun control. Short of WMDs, to me, if you can buy it or make it, you should be allowed to own it.
He said under the present conditions he doesn't support gun control, but if criminals didn't have them then he would be willing to give his guns up (and I am assuming support gun control laws). I said he was foolish for saying he would just hand over his guns to the government after criminals didn't have them anymore.
The government takes your property every single day without compensating you. If they knew no one had any guns to fight back, this theft would only get worse. Guns are a very necessary check against government power, no matter how 'legitimate' you think that power happens to be.
