What hasn't happened? Doctors are turning away Medicare patients left and right, if that's what you're referring to. At least in the great state of Indiana, the state's solution is to cut payments by 20%. I'm sure that will fix all of the problems.

More patients, less time to see each and significant cuts often below costs of providing service. This is how we "fix" health care. Practitioners are rejecting private and public insurances because they cannot afford to operate at a loss. Those who have plans which reimburse realistically are accepted.

I still have not seen an explanation of how this half price health care can be effectively instituted.

The answer to that question is apparently "France". I wonder if I can pay my creditors with that response?

I find it ironic that government is so intent on blowing as much money as it can, except when it comes to reimbursing for healthcare. They have thus created a crisis in healthcare, then claim to have the solution. The only problem is that that solution doesn't involve a long walk over a short cliff.

France becoming more and more "conservative" as of late; the unions are screaming bloody murder but it seems the population has become versed in macroeconomic theory: Protectionism doesn't work.

Good for them I say.

How has it not worked for them? Would they really be better off losing whatever manufacturing they have and whatever knowledge-based jobs can be done in India and China? Is it possible that other aspects of the nation's economic policy that aren't related to international trade or global labor arbitrage might have something to do with the state of the nation's economy?
