Why IDM is so much popular among other download managers

Hey I have a question in my mind, about the download managers we have use in our daily life. Why internet download manager (AKA) IDM is so much popular among other download manger softwares. I was discussing with my friend about which download manger is best he told me about IDM moreover open investigation through internet i read too many people taking about it. Is paid feature not a reason for popularity of idm?

- no bullshit approach, stable
- speeds shit up
- good integration with browsers
- regular updates

Hmm application should be stable and regular updates helps users to be stay updated and safe.

Ya, had to use IDM to download Win ISOs from pcriver. (For many, unless you use a download manager, you cant get the ISO from there.)

It is not required that IDM be an add-on. When installing, the option is presented for it to be an add-on, but if you decline the option, then it functions "stand-alone."

Because it is best to download. Give fastest downloading speed, never crash, never create any problem, use all possible ways to resume the download files. I am totally satisfied with it. Using it from a long time

I saw pcriver as a recommended site for obtaining windows iso(es) on another forum. (Also believe that it is frequently seen as a source in several review sites like cnet.)

So far Ive downloaded a Win 7 (64bit) and an MS Office 2013 Plus from pcriver and they seem to be legit.

If you try to use pcriver though, then be prepared to have to use an IDM of some sort or another.

on which forum you get the recommendation about this. Here above a member shared Digital river as partner for microsoft.

That's, at best, a bunch of links to other software / trials / legit downloads that survives by throwing ads at you.

At worst it could be directing you to malware-ridden alternate downloads. No idea what's in that ISO, but that's NOT an MS-authorized download site.

I'm downloading their Win7 x64 Ultimate ISO - if the MD5 matches what I can get from MSDN, I'll be pleasantly surprised, but I still wouldn't recommend anybody use pcriver for anything.
