Maybe the only fear the American people had was looking at John F Kerry's face and the elite liberal policies he would bring as our president for the next 4 years?
Bingo.

Uh huh. Says the guy that voted for Kerry.

Their utopia. People working 3 jobs while the uber rich float away in their 100-ft yachts. Wal-Mart on every corner, 4-year-olds sewing together clothing, pollution levels at levels that would choke a horse, water supplies contaminated with mercury, majority of the beef industry infected with Mad Cow Disease, the temperature of the Earth rising 1 degree a year, one candidate on every ballot, one state religion, one state language, one state line of thinking, detention camps for dissenters, executions of those deemed "enemies of the state", Patriot Acts 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 passed without a single nay vote, continuous warfare, blood spilt on every continent on the globe (including the Wahabi (sp) penguins of Antarctica), gas prices at $8.00 per gallon, public schools destroyed where only the "elite" children would be educated, slavery reinstated being called "Patriotic Serfdom" and so much more right-wing LOVELINESS.

I read this and looked at the post previous that read " For example: don't support gay marriage, you're a bigot; hold personal religious beliefs, you're an anti-science fundamentalist; don't support socialized healthcare, you hate the poor; don't support political correctness and affirmative action, you're a racist; etc" and it is obvious some people get it while others dont.

I'm not a "Bushie," I voted for Kerry (but only as the lesser of 2 evils).

The uber-left just doesn't want to recognize the obvious fact that they are destroying the Democratic party by alienating its moderate mainstream. For example, look at the comedy of errors that was Kerry's campaign. At virtually no point was he allowed to cater to the moderate mainstream, but was constantly forced to make promises to the extreme left (I say "allowed" and "forced" because it was obvious that this campaign policy went against his own personal judgement). This policy made no sense at all because the extreme left would have rather died than vote for Bush.
Why did this happen? See cKGunslinger's post above. The extreme left has taken the position that "moderates need not apply," or "toe the party line or go elsewhere." For example: don't support gay marriage, you're a bigot; hold personal religious beliefs, you're an anti-science fundamentalist; don't support socialized healthcare, you hate the poor; don't support political correctness and affirmative action, you're a racist; etc. In essence, the Democratic party has become the party of exclusion, and if it continues on this course, that will be its downfall.
I've found that it's impossible to win by taking your enemy's advice.
Enjoy losing again in 2006 and 2008.

You think I voted for or support Bush? Read some of my posts and threads here. I think the man has been a pretty poor President (better than Kerry would have been, no doubt, but generally poor.)

I think your problem is that you think in only black and white. You're mad at Bush for using the line "Either you're with us or against us" (paraphrased), yet you exhibit the exact same line of thinking. Everyone who disagrees with you is your enemy, who must be stopped at all costs.

How do you expect to better this nation with that kind of attitude?

I am that moderate mainstream the uber-liberals are alienating out of the Democratic party.

My primary political emphasis has always been civil liberties. So, in the past, I would vote Democrat while recoiling in horror from Republican fascist policies. But, in recent years, the Democrats have become every bit the enemies of Civil Liberties as have been the Republicans. Thus, I am displaced. Whither shall I go? That you don't care, that you would only think of me a traitor by not toeing the party line, etc. is only further evidence of the misguided direction the Democratic party is taking. Face it, the Dems have become the mirror image of their enemies -- anti-freedom fascists -- "Freedom will not be tolerated here."

Using people to advance your goals is not "bending over backwards to please" anyone.

Remember last election how quickly Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton were shut up by the mainstream media and liberal politicians.

I think they were one step from being classified white because of their attacks on the democrat party.

As for "old white guys" you mean non-elitist "old white guys" I presume. Unless Senator Kennedy, et al, are either not old nor white.

No need for guns, bush and co are digging their own political grave.

Just up to the people to clean up the trash once the bag of neoconservatism is tied up properly.

And it's almost too funny that they are succeeding through you and the other uber-libs. The moderates are trying to hold the party together and you call us the "enemy." Nice fsckin' work, pal.

It's not hard to figure out really. Given the choice between communism and fascism, the majority of the American public will always choose fascism. If one is going to be slave, it's better to be one in a positive environment than as a drone, eh?

Yes yes we have heard this the past 4 years.

The result is a re-elected president and more control over the house and senate.

See you in '09 with your same tired out rhetoric.

You cannot realistically be that daft and still manage to tie your own shoes and post on this forum.

The world is not black or white, right or wrong, left or right. Not everyone who doesn't kiss your ass at every opportunity is automatically a Republican, automatically a Bush-supporter, automatically your enemy. If you don't understand the concept of "shades of grey," then you are the one who's outdated, who's hurting America, who's inherently bigoted, who's prejudiced and intolerant.

You are an undesirable relic who brings absolutely nothing to the table but hate, under guise of self-righteousness. Hopefully, 'your party' will not follow in your ill-fated footsteps, or they will become just as irrelevant.

A dedication for Steeplerot:

The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar
That tomorrow
There'll be sun!

Just thinkin' about
Tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs,
And the sorrow
'Til there's none!

When I'm stuck a day
That's gray,
And lonely,
I just stick out my chin
And Grin,
And Say,
Oh!

The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
'Til tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
I love ya Tomorrow!
You're always
A day
A way!

LOL I dont like to group people... to me both parties are essential pwnd by big biz as evidenced by the lobbists offices that line Washington DC around the Capital, the revolving door to fat cats once they get out of "service", and thier massive donations.

Mainly we need to get government out of our lives, but it seems rather impossible when everyone wants it to be thier arbitrator.
