As others have said marketing and offending the mod people. HTC was always the developer friendly phone until recently. They wait 3-4 months to release source code where Samsung usually goes it before the OTA updates even go out. HTC went back on it's word to update Desire HD to ICS also.

I also think it has to do with others just surpassing them with the specs of the phones. HTC was supremely popular back in the WM days as there wasn't anyone else who had similar phones. TP2 anyone? Now everyone has something as good or better /w better marketing.

I think people just have enough after their phones being dumped out of the support list, i don't blame them bottom line is what counts and these pesky people who already gave them their money means nothing.

I thought in the past HTC EVO 4G was the BEST and flawless…It used to be hot selling phone!

I think the problem is that the One series isn't offered on every carrier and that the versions that were released were just variation. Also the One series isn't very good in terms of hardware.
The battery sucks: half of day of battery and non user replaceable when the GS3 has 2100mah battery that lasts all day and is replaceable.
No memory Card: come one this feature has existed since forever.
The GS3 eats the one series for breakfast maybe next time HTC will make better hardware. However my HTC Flyer is still a top notch piece of hardware.

I find that observation strange as in Anand's tests, the One X (krait version) does better than the SGS3 even though it has a smaller battery. I can see that a non-replaceable battery being an issue in and of itself, but the One X shouldn't be only lasting half a day if the SGS3 is going all day. Can you please point me to a use case where the SGS3 is going to see twice as much battery life as the One X.

It was the best for a while but HTC never really made a successful follow up to it while Samsung hit a home run with the Galaxy S2.

Thunderbolt certainly didn't help anything. That thing got hyped up like crazy as the first LTE phone, and it seems like tons of people bought them. How many Thunderbolt owners do you think recommended an HTC phone to their friends? Nearly every Thunderbolt owner I talked to hated the terrible battery life and wished they had bought something else instead.

More than likely he's talking out his ass.
