I would guess there would be an element of either party that would have difficulty accepting the results in this situation, had they lost. Think about the whining that would go on at this forum if the Supreme Court had decided in a way that favored Gore. Personally, I voted for Bush, so I have confidence that he'll surround himself with good people and be a good puppet.

Woodsman, my boy, please take a deep deep breath and relax. This is politics not a war. Rhetoric is high right now because of the close election.

In my view we are lucky that the Republicans are in power for the next four years. It's a cycle. The dems get in for awhile and screw things up. The Republicans get in and straighten the mess up that the Dems made of social issues and the economy.
Then the dems get back in and the cycle starts over.

It's a yin and yang thang.

The great thing about the US and it's system is that it is done without guns and violence.

Also, the world almost ended on regan's shift. when the Russians had a false missle alarm, and was so mistrustfull of regan, wanted to fire their missles. Lucky for us, there
was a reasonable commander who refused to follow orders, and lost his job because of it.
