Don't have a furnace, live in an apartment. Replaced the batteries. Still chirping. Kind of annoyed with this thread of bullshit, kind of defeats the entire purpose of these threads whetn people just talk shit instead of trying to spread information. So, if all you have are fart jokes and bullshit maybe look at social media instead of forums.
Did you check to see if there was a bird in it?

Scary how many people here talked about checking for gas leaks.
An exhaust leak is still a gas leak, but would be detected by a CO-detector.
An old couple were sitting in Church and the wife noticed that people were staring at her.
She leaned across to her husband and whispered, "I've just let go a silent fart. What do you think I should do?"
He said, "I think you should get fresh batteries for your hearing aid."
Scary how many people here talked about checking for gas leaks. CO detectors do NOT detect gas leaks. They detect Carbon Monoxide, which is not gas, CO can come from the incomplete combustion of Natural Gas, but it is not Natural Gas, and a leak would not cause CO. Even with incomplete burn CO levels generally only become dangerous due to poor and improper ventilation of the combustion.
So many people think CO detectors detect gas leaks, when they don't. You need an explosive gas detector for that, not a CO detector.
Many CO detectors on the market also detect natural gas. I.e., people go out to buy a carbon monoxide detector and discover if/when they read the directions, that it also detects natural gas.
