Why is my computer restarting when I select shutdown?

Hiya, this is my first post to Anand. Thanks largely to info I picked up on this board I was able to piece together my first computer last week. Problem I'm experiencing now is I can't shutdown my system. If I select shutdown, the darn thing just reboots.. Any ideas?

Well, since you have windows 98se then this may be very easy to fix. I don't know why but second edition had a bug that would make the system reboot instead of shut down so microsoft released a patch for it. Go to microsofts site and search for any updates to win98se and that should fix the problem.

You might also want to make sure that you have the latest BIOS for your A7V.
