I shared a video showing how bad AMD's OpenGL performance is, and all i got was some snotty idiot moaning about music i was playing whilst visually showing them the issue.

Who fucking cares what yours or my music tastes are? it's my fucking video, i will play whatever the fuck i like so long as it is not illegal to upload to YT.

Then because i said politely, "i don't care what your music tastes are, and i am quite happy if you do not care for mine, you can always mute the video"

Next thing i know, thread went from +5 karma to -10 karma, and that single comment -5 karma.. deleted the thread.

No one even wants to discuss what the fuck the thread was for.

The whole karma system is why reddit sucks. The first people to populate the subreddit after it's created determine the attitude it has. If you post something they don't like, they downvote and similar posts will never show up. Post something they like, it gets upvoted and that's all people begin to post. The obvious solution is to find a different subreddit, but I think as a whole it's a stupid system.

If you look at some of his threads here, you can tell that he's not interested in having discussions, he wants people to agree with him and when people don't just throw compliments he throws tantrums.

reddit karma has lots of potential. It's democracy at it's almost perfect form(they do fuzz votes). It also highlights the fact that the average person is a mouth breathing fuckwit. You need to accept that, or life will be very hard for you. Post your shit, answer intelligent questions, ignore the rest. A dollar and some reddit karma will get you a cup of coffee.

Reddit can be weird for that. You can post something that is decent, it immediately gets downvoted and nobody ever sees it again. Or someone posts a rude comment etc.

Or post something that is more meh and it blows up with tons of upvotes and gold.

I think timing is everything, you need to post based on the topic or meme of the day if not it just gets downvoted. For example, if you had taken an ISS transit pic of the eclipse, it would probably get downvoted because the eclipse is over. It also depends who is the first person to see it. If the first person to see it downvotes it then it's gone. Other people see it has 0 votes and follow suit and downvote it too.
