breaks like this from new airings is why netflix was invented. catch up on all the shows you didn't have time for earlier AND don't have to wait for a new episode to air in a week. why wait four years to get through prison break when you can do it over a summer when its all said and done.

Netflix dosen't exist this side of the water.

Not easily But I spent a few months on the other side of the water this year, and when there I installed Comodo TrustConnect. Allowed me to create an IP address in the US and access netflix / hulu / anything I'm sure there's similar services

That's interesting :hmm: do you suppose I'd be able to rent an american VPS from over here and set that up, because that would be awesome.

well the company is also based in the UK so possibly? the way it actually works is you log in and it gives you three choices of IP addresses [US, UK, and I think the third was Australia or something]. You pick which one you want to connect to. They have a free trial

if you had someone you knew with a netflix acct that would be willing to let you try it out, might be worth a shot

In all honesty it looks cheaper than a VPS would be so I'll get into it, much appreciated there's nothing more annoying than visiting an american site and it saying "Unfortunately this service is not available in your area, but were working on getting it done..."

I'm sure billions of dollars of research has been spent into determining who watches tv and during what time periods, but yeah... generally speaking, it seems like a lot of shows are off the air the week of Thanksgiving, come back for 2 weeks, go off again for Christmas/New Years, and then come back again in January.

I'd guess it's a timing thing... you're not going to waste a new broadcast on Thanksgiving day, but then if you air all your other weekly shows with new episodes that week, you'll be off-kilter, having to have a week where you have repeats every day of the week except Thursday (which in turn would drag down Thursday's numbers, since fewer people watching during the week while repeats air = fewer people seeing promos for Thursday shows)
