Why it seems to be very little hope for the upcoming consoles PlayStation/Xbox

The original Xbox had a GPU with 20 gflops.

The Xbox 360 had a GPU with 240 gflops which is 12x more powerful

The Xbox One had a GPU with 1.310 tflops which is 5.4x more powerful.

The Xbox One X has a GPU with 6 tflops which is 4.5x more powerful

However, with the current state of GPUs, a GPU that is about 2x as powerful would be a RTX2080 which cost $750 which is way over the budget for a console.

There has not been a steady increase of GPU performance.

Games - period.

I don't care if a console makes you ham sandwich - if it doesn't have any games I want to play, I don't want anything to do with it. The XBox doesn't have any games I want to play, because I can get most of what use to be 1st part XBox Exclusive on the PC.

Nintendo and Sony - they have quite a few games that I can only play on their hardware.

Do I like their hardware? Not really.

Switch is weak... garbage load times. Playstation is good... could be better. The PS Pro... what? Not every game is 'enhanced'. And not every console has B/C.

Anyway... games.

The XBOX X is a premium mid generation upgrade, so I wouldn't expect the next box to be 5 times more powerful than that. I would expect the next box to make XBOX X level of performance the new baseline for mainstream.

consoles have a clear advantage when it comes to games *designed* to be on console; the twin-stick controller, plus the multitude of ergonomically-placed buttons, the simpler UIs, the graphic design, all focus on making console games a couch experience.
PC games are designed, mostly, to have your face in the monitor.

You can't make a good console game on PC just like you can't make a good PC game on console, because the gaming tool is what makes most of the experience.

A clear example of this is racing games on the PC - they suck. BUT, you say, you can get a racing wheel ..
Yeah so then it's the racing wheel you are playing with. And you still have the disadvantage of the smaller screen.

You gotta see the hardware and software as a whole.

But we've been using twin-stick controllers on PC for a long time now.

What's the difference these days between a "console game on PC" and a console game on a console? Not a whole lot (other than modding is much more feasible on PC). I played the first entry in the latest Tomb Raider series on PS4, and the second one on PC, and the gameplay experience was the same (this is on my living room PC, hooked up to the TV, with an Xbox 360 controller).

i dont know you but my PC doesnt come with twin analog sticks, nor does it plug in to my tv.
Huh, most PCs have featured HDMI for years now.
Is my PS4 a PC because I can plug a keyboard and mouse into it?

All I know is Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony and game companies have a habit over over promising what the new hardware can or will be capable of. Reality is usually a disappointment.

My xbone is great for collecting dust and sitting there all sad. The few times I turned it on it has an hour of updates pending and I just say fuck it and do something else.

Yeah, they should probably follow the Windows model and have it update during defined off-usage hours.
My PlayStations did that, if I was paying for PlayStation Plus (it should be a free feature, IMO).

Similar to my PS3 experience
Wife & I had tons of fun with the PS2. Games just seemed to change with the PS3, mostly shooters which I have zero interest playing with a controller and really, really simple games for children.
I managed to get the PlayStation plus online thingy at like $20 for the first year. There was one virtual community thing that was sort of interesting for 10 minutes every few weeks but that was it. Even the free games they gave were just a little better than some dumb flash game.
Overall the PS3 was an enormous disappointment, so much of a disappointment I stopped following nearly all console news.

Above is pure opinion you are free to enjoy shooters on clumsy game pads.

your pc doesn't have hdmi or usb or bluetooth?
ok to be honest i have no idea how usb or bluetooth (??) could be used to connect to video and frankly im .. more than a little dubious those are legitimate methods, and for HDMI, yeah, my PC does in fact have the potential to connect to a tv. Im sure my motorcycle has the potential to work as a lawnmower but that's not its intended method of use.
I didnt buy a topre and a Fk1+ to use them from a couch.

He is saying Bluetooth for a controller.
I agree with you. PC games can be played on the TV but they are designed to be played on a monitor.
I have little interest in moving or building a PC to use as a game console connected to the TV and dealing with wireless mice, keyboards maybe a headset and figuring out a proper seating position.

So, if I were to plug my living room PC into a 27" monitor, then it's suddenly a PC again? And this is meant to be a logical argument, is it?
I played through Bard's Tale IV on it with keyboard and mouse, was it a PC during that time, but not when I was playing The Witcher 3 with a controller?

What are some examples of these specific types of "PC games" that came out in 2019?

The lines are becoming blurred. More and more PC gamers are trading up to large C9 OLEDs for the variable refresh rate and peerless picture quality. I game on my PC from the couch on a 82" samsung Q70r using a XBONE or Dualshock controller. (I don't play shooters, or I would use mouse and keyboard)

And I thought my 75" was a monster!
I did go Samsung too, for the FreeSync.
