The article by Bill Bennett so it's mostly a load of crap, but the old gas bag raises a few valid points. Our country's rising out of wedlock birthrate is certainly unfortunate, as are the number of kids growing up in single parent homes with absentee or deadbeat fathers. The whole no ambition, living in your parents basement thing is also disturbingly prevalent.

Of course there's plenty of garbage about declining church attendance (as if that's a bad thing) and nonsense that you need to get married in order to be a "man" (I do think you should get married before having kids, but other than that who cares?) Bennett's criticism of video games is also laughable considering how he's lost an enormous amount of money gambling.

Even with the skewed college attendance thing I'm sure there will still be calls to do more for girls in K-12. The statistics are pretty clear which gender is failing and in need to extra help though. It seems the policy for boys at my high school was to get them onto some kind of mood altering drug ASAP and then dump them in a basement somewhere. Apparently the sins of the fathers will be paid for by punishing their male offspring with neglect.

Its sort of a negative feedback loop of male role models maybe. You have no father around and elementary schools employ few male teachers, high school isn't much better. Who do they have to emulate besides a few transient figures in their lives and distant celebrities and athletes? It doesn't really surprise me a lot of men end up just drifting...its all they ever did.

The Western World hasn't needed feminism in quite a long fucking time, yet it's still in full force. I cannot stand feminists as they believe creating equality through inequality is the right course of measure. Because they were so opressed for years. How many women alive in the USA have been oppressed? How many here remember when they didn't have the right to vote? Not very fucking many. I'm also sick of being called "unresponsible" etc for not being married, for still having room mates and doing what I WANT at 26. Have these women even looked at themselves? lol, when the GIRLS decide to grow up they can call me, until then I've been over playing their games for a few years now and that's why they become "sex objects".

I have already been through the notion that I can change several times. I have tried, and I continue to fail. I am very sure that the reason that I fail is because I didn't try hard enough. That is pretty much intrinsic to the definition of failure. It just isn't in me. I am tired of trying.
