A coworker of mine drives a BMW 335 and he just picked up a Miata. He absolutely loves driving that thing and ttakes it to the track every chance he gets. He said the handling on it is so great it's just a blast. Guess he isn't the only one that's into them.

I see far fewer of them at my outings than you'd think. It's rare to see more than 1 or 2 in a field of 60 or so and the ones I do see have had so much work that they really are not a lot like the normal car anymore.

It's pretty rare to see a stock Miata on track, but as stripper race cars and Spec cars they are still pretty popular and run with cars with twice the power.

That's because it's so cheap/easy to do a ton of work to them. They have one of the best (if not the best) aftermarket(s).
