Hey, just an interesting note, the same greek word that was used for unity between a man and a woman is the same word they used when they wrote about the trinity. So honestly, like, if you are confused about things, instead of reading what other people have to say, get out a good concordinance with the greek and hebrew words, original texts, and several translations of the bible.. read through it, and see what was actually written. a lot of things are lost in translation.. and a lot of confusion comes from that. i believe this could be of the reasons why (and if it isnt, it still has a positive side effect) muslims believe that only the Arabic version of the koran in is the true word of God.

There are things in the bible that are indisputable. There are cannonical books, and then there are different parts of christianity which have added different books.. like there is the book of wisdom and the book of Maccabees for catholics, etc.. those books were added at a different time, and then the mormans added other books (we all saw the south park episode).. so, the thing of it is, the added books, or at least some of the ones that are used by catholics have been proven to be wrong. they put people in places that they could not be, because they were somewhere else at the time, and there are places that were actually made up.. I dont subscribe to a specific denomination of christianity, i just follow what the bible says. And if there is some non-salvation determining church splitting controversy, i stay out of it. it isnt necessary to worry about. Because there are other things which are much more important. The Great Comission for one. It is sad to see people get caught up in the small things and let that tear the stability down. Jesus told the pharisee's (in Matthew 12:27)"... Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand?...But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you." see what he does there? He logically proves to them He is holy. not only that, but he brings it back to the important things. not what they were bickering about... so get over the small stuff and praise the Lord.

just not trinitians
and they don't believe in popes, either
so they aren't popians
and they don't believe in eucharists, either
so they aren't eucharistians

the trinity term is NOT even in the bible
it never says "praise be to Trinity", or "give thanks unto Trinity", or "Trinity shall be His name"

I s'pose next you will assert "Mormons don't go to MY mass, so they can't believe in MY Jesus"

how come logic just flies out the window for so many people when they try to enter a religious topic?

Because people are insecure and weak by nature.

I'm a Christian. If you believe in Christ, that's fine by me. If you don't believe in Christ, that's fine by me too. Either way, just don't try to shove your beliefs or non-beliefs down my throat, and don't think you're holier-than-thou or better than someone else because of them.

If you needed to learn a programming language, would you go to an English major? If you needed to learn farming, would you goto a mechanic? If you needed to learn finances, would you goto an art major? Why, then, if you want to learn about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints do you go first to the detractors of the religion. The OP said that he has friends that are LDS, yet instead of using his friends, The Book of Mormon, The Doctrine & Covenants, or The Pearl of Great Price to prove his point, he used literature written by people who are not members or have left the church and have written a biased version of it. If I wanted to learn more about Catholicism, would I talk with an Atheist or an ex-communicated member? Heavens no, I would speak to a member in good standing and work from a common ground. *sigh* I just love being told that I don't believe in Jesus Christ. Or, even better from this thread, that I believe in a different Jesus Christ. Makes me wonder what I'm gonna believe in next.....

What the heck is The Pearl of great price??!?

That's a very mature and informative post. I applaud you for that. I feel that people from all denominations would benefit they're own spiritual journey by learning a little bit about others. It doesn't matter if you agree with them or not.
