I've just gone and reread the description of this forum:

Post the hottest prices and deals you've found on the net in the AnandTech Hot Deals forum.

I'm at a loss to figure out how the newegg refurb deals fail to fit this description. I'm particualrly missing the place where it says the items have to be available in a certain verified quantity to be eligible for posting. Please get the Moderators to define exactly how many of some deal must be available, and what is acceptable as proof of this number, so we don't offend your eyes again.

The tips on these boards are great. The pointless crap some people feel the need to heap on top of some of them is not. I bought a couple refurb items from newegg, and I wouldn't have even known of the newegg refurb area itself if it weren't fro posts here ...

BTW, every time I have posted a refurb deal, I have monitored the stock and gone back to update the subject line with "DEAD" as soon as they're gone. So, come up with another reason to rag please, some of you.

How do refurbished items at Newegg or anywhere else qualify as a hot deal. The refurbished items on the market in many cases are used and/or returned due to some malfunction. The price is low for that particular reason and the warranty period is usually thirty days or less. If any still thinks these are hot items then I suppose I could go to the local used car lot and get their prices for posting as hot deals.

Crapping on one thread wasn't good enough so you have to create one to crap on a whole bunch of legitimate good deals, SuperCyrix?

If anyone wants to post Newegg refurbs, please include "Newegg refurb" in the title of the thread. If you don't like Newegg refurb deals please don't look at posts that say "Newegg refurb" in the title. There, now we can all be happy again.

Please let this thread die and make room for something useful. It keeps coming back like the black clap. Maybe the mods will treat us to a healthy dose of penicillin.

The paranoid side of me thinks that the masses of stupid Newegg refurb posts about items in extremely short supply could be an elaborate subversive marketing scheme to get people to their website.

<< DO those refurbs from Newegg actually work as good as new?? >>

I could be wrong, but I think the "refurbished" items Newegg sells are just returns they get. Newegg is my favorite cheap place to buy from now.

in case you guys were interested in their info...
here's what i gathered.

Newegg

Line of Business: RET COMPUTER PARTS PERIHPERAL AND ELECTRONICS
Location Type: SINGLE LOCATION

Sales Range:
$4.1 million to $5 million

i wonder how much of that 4.1-5 mil came from AT members.

and what strikes me as odd is the employee range.
1-5? that's all it takes to run a company like this?
wow. it's amazing how they can keep up with the demand.

It's amazing that a company that size could do such a large business. But, I've seen some offices of big, online retailers that are amazingly small. Have you ever gone by amazon.com? it's amazing that such a large company occupies such a small office.

No doubt. Posting a hot deal for a "1 in stock" refurb item is BS. Mods should lock these on sight. I say leave these deals for the people who hunt the site every day.

Actually, having worked for larger companies, most of the employees are "trophy employees" as in "What? You only have 3 employees in your department? What a loser - I have 10 employees that work under me!".

Most of those 10 employees in those departments are visiting porn sites, or perhaps Anandtech.

About 10% of people do any productive work, the rest are involved in "moving a rock from A to B and then moving it back from B to A".

The mod's are more interested in sticking off-topic crap to the top of page one. This thread is OT enough I'm surprised it's not a sticky.
