It doesn't matter if you are over the legal limit because your driving is impacted immediately and you can be arrested at .04 or .06 or whatever if it is impacting your ability to operate.

Being tired, sick, talking in the car affect your driving immediately as well.

You have proven twice in your post that you can't even drive properly sober.

And in some places they are changing the laws about driving tired to align with DUI. If there were easy tests that would allow for prosecuting these other examples sickness and talking then they would be making arrests for that as well.

People will lol at you for making a victimless crime require the death penalty.
It's not because drunk driving is that dangerous, but because it shows that person is a retard. Being a retard is dangerous.

0.08 is actually quite a bit. At that point, you'll feel pretty tipsy. You know you're impaired, but you're still legal to drive. Anyone who still drives when they're 2x that is a retard. Today they're driving drunk, but what will they do tomorrow? Tell their kid to pull something out of the lawn mower while it's still running? Remove the safety from their gun because it's too annoying? Will they try starting a camp fire by pouring gasoline on it when it's already on fire?

Getting rid of these people should be our highest priority as a society.

Sounds about right. They're pretty easy to spot too. They drive below the speed limit and they have a really hard time going in a straight line. They move in a zig zag sort of pattern but stay in their lane while doing it.

New rule: mandatory death penalty if you are more than 2x the legal limit.

Actually most aren't weaving and are driving normal, most never have any incidents ever.

I believe if someone is all over the road or does get into an accident because of being out of control then they should be punished, but not because of roadblocks and random stops.

However it's easy for a cop to stay the car was weaving or erratic, I say it must be on tape as proof.

Also keep in mind many are arrested with vehicles not in motion just because there is a huge grey area on intent/ability to drive.

This is why I don't drink anything when I know I will be driving. Having 1 or 2 beers may not put you over the legal limit, but it will increase risk somewhat. Why take the risk? Is it really that hard to stay sober when you know you'll be driving?

Do we currently have any other system in place that assume someone is breaking the law and requires proof to the contrary before use?

Showing ID when buying cigarettes or alcohol. Passing through a metal detector at the airport (or anywhere else). Need to show proof of insurance before getting a car out of impound.

apparently or we wouldn't be arresting over 1 million people a year

it really is..i know quite a few people who drive drunk

maybe not habitually, but they do a few times a year at least..it really drives me crazy

society talks about how terrible it is, but it is incredibly common..even in people who claim to be against it

You didn't include a smilie or a capitalized LOL to indicate you were joking. You were dead serious and now you're trying to backpedal.

Go read through my posts and find me 10 smiles.

Obviously I was being dead serious...

You're politics make me ill.

yes it is as an option within 10 years or less. Standard shortly after. It will be implemented around the same time MADD pushes through zero tolerance laws.

Yea sure, in your opinion. But your opinion holds no authority, your thoughts have no clout, and you are of no significance in this industry.

So like I said, trolling.

I've had my blow and go installed for a few days now and I don't think it would be bad for all cars to have them. It takes an extra ten seconds before you take off but wouldn't that be worth saving thousands of lives a year? It would also do away with not knowing your bac like things are now.

It would get my vote for sure

Because I don't drink/drive, I don't want to pay for it, I don't want to fudge up my interior, and it's one more thing to go wrong.

Cars already cost twice what they should with all the stuff on them imposed by nanny state. Why not put a full roll cage like baja trucks have in every car? Why not make people wear helmets and 4 point harnesses, etc etc etc
