Why NOT to buy Asus

Is this the response you expect from a company that supplies some of the most popular motherboards in the industry? As a sidenote, I had already tried his "remedy." my point is not the issue of why the motherboard isn't working, its the quality of the response.

[Problem Description]
I cannot get this motherboard to post with my 90mm 939 Athlon 3200+. Can you please send an
updated bios chip (1008) so I can get this thing working?

Sir , Maybe you needn't other bios chipset . Please use single channel memory inserted DIMM B1 slot to boot up and flash to BIOS 1007 or above to solve the problem.

PS: We can't send you a alone bios chip.because the mb's an mac address, 1394 address are writen in the bios chip .if we send you a bios chip with program, the addresswill be error . if you want to need it , please contact your reseller

Sir, Please use 1 or 2 memory to boot up your computer , then entry your bios and decrease your memory frequency to ddr 333 mhz or change memory CL value to test .

If still not and if it is possible, i suggest you choose other our recommended memory to test .

motherboard wont boot or post with dual channel memory activated. will only post if the stick of
memory is in slot b1 and b2 or b1 by its self. will not post if there are sticks in slots a1 a2, a1 b1, a1
b2, a2 b2. I have 4 sticks of kingston hyperx pc3200
and can only use 2 of them, and not even in dual channel mode
using bios version 1.0.0.7 was using 1.0.0.8 but did do anything tried beta 1.0.0.9.0.0.6 but nothing
changed. I know my memory work (worked well in my p4 2.6 system) so i would like to know if it is a
bios defect, motherboard defect, or cpu matter. Please help....

I fail to see the problem here. The tech support person told you the next step in troubleshooting your issue. He did not know you have already tried the aforementioned step. He even told you why a new bios chip would not work (I don't know if he's right, but that's another issue). The correct response now would be to send another e-mail, stating you have tried that solution without success and then ask what the next step should be.

Am I missing something. The response seemed reasonable, if a bit on the grammatically-challenged end of things.

i did that and my response was to send my board back to the people i bought it from and replace it


so i just bought and abit av8 i'll have to see if i still get the problem...... hopefully i dont
